Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance (2024) would be placed as a One Year War sidestory. Also second and third Hathaway movies has been green lit.

Gundam SEED FREEDOM (2024) served as SEED DESTINY's sequel.

Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans - Urdr Hunt (2024) served as IBO's sidestory.

Gundam: Build Metaverse (2023) served as final Build entry as ReRise's sequel. Includues undialogued cameo of Gundam Breaker cast, so merge of Build Fighters/Divers between Breaker possibility would open your interpretion.

You could also just watch in release order! That’s what I did. Spin offs and all. I skipped around a little but I liked release order cause I was viewing by anime era and seeing the progress in animation etc.

I recommend following the order in this stack. Just the core Universal Century TV shows, movies and OVAs in an order that is roughly chronological but doesn't compromise on the mystery.

Origin, Thunderbolt, and Unicorn/NT are deviations from the original canon and while Origin and Thunderbolt fit in the original canon Unicorn and NT do not. That is main reason for the U.C. Next 100 project to fit the Unicorn/NT branch of event post CCA back into the Tomino original canon from CCA to Hathaway’s Flash. Like how in NT they specifically said that Unicorn and Banshee were sealed and/or being disassembled and the Earth Federation banned Anaheim from further developing full psychoframe machines. This very similar to how Dave Filoni has ran all his Star Wars projects.

These four entries are the initial thrust of Gundam. After that you can jump around, watch what you want.

Please do not watch origin first. Watch 0079. Origin is amazing but none of the characters, reveals, premises, etc will be as shoking or hooking if you don’t know what comes after. Please hear me on this.

If you want to get into the Good Stuff (Universal Century Timeline) I would recommend starting with the original 0079 series. And if you like that watch it’s sequels: Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ and Char’s Counterattack.

The best watch order is just to watch the shows, movies, ovas, etc. in the order they came out in. It's what I have been doing, and it's worked great for me. Watching the Origin before 79 is something that I have never understood. You'll likely get very little out of it if you haven't seen the story of 79. Not to mention how canon it is to the UC timeline is pretty debatable.

Hard disagree.

Char's motivations, especially when seeing Sayla in the second episode of MSG are really vague.

Watch Origin first, OP. It explains a lot and sets the scene perfectly.

i recommend The Origin OVA as a first-starter for EVERYONE entering the Gundam franchise :)

many people don't like that because of release order and sentimental reasons, but honestly The Origin is a perfect starter.
