They both had something in vocals the other didn't have. Iwasawa's voice was more mature and smooth while Yui's was more energetic and upbeat. Iwasawa's character was short lived so I can't really compare it to Yui's longer screen time. I disliked Yui as a character but since Iwasawa wasn't all that fun either they tied in terms of character.

My vote is for Iwasawa, " My Song" is my favorite and I loved how it came through on screen.

But I will say that Yui's voice is amazing also it was hard to choose because "Ichiban no Takaramono" is a very very close second to "My Song" imo

Yui FTW...

I liked Iwasawa too, but she's been around for only 3 episodes, so I didn't get to know her that much..

Iwasawa.

Yui sounds good and it really fits the j-rock-pop style of music in Angel Beats.

But Iwasawa has a really unique voice for this style of music. It stood out a lot more to me than Yui's versions.

But that's just me

I've appreciated Yui more after her last episode, finally understood why she was so hyper all the time (which annoyed me a little) but I prefer Iwasawa with her vocals. Yui's voice was more, high pitched? I don't really know how to describe it, unlike Iwasawa's which was easy on the ear. Looks/Personality wise, definitely going with Iwasawa, learning about her past and discovering music, that was just wow. I felt that she loved music just like I do now and how it saved her.

Voted Iwasawa.

She's my favourite character out of the whole series and I seriously love her versions for Crow Song, My Song and Alchemy. Yui's vocals by LiSA is great too and I'm a fan of LiSA. But in comparison, I prefer Iwasawa by character.

(And Iwasawa's too cute in the manga to not like her. XD)

Yui was a more developed character, and her main existence in the anime was to tell her tragic life before she arrived in limbo. Iwasawa, on the other hand, is clearly the more popular singer as she was the original member on Girls De Mo. She has the perfect voice, and her existence in the story was more of providing a spectacular exposition to kick-start the anime and provide a intriguing point to keep viewers watching. Overall, I think these two cannot be compared togeather simply because they provide different roles in the anime even though they possesed the same jobs (they both told their story, and was the lead singer in GDM)
