I only watched it so I could see the characters getting killed and eaten. Couldn't care less about the dialogue. Maybe you should watch it like that instead. Looking forward to the deaths.

I mean I can sort of understand what you're saying. Although I didn't find the 1st season boring and I thought it was good, but I didn't understand why my friends had hyped it so much for me. But honestly, that opinion completely changed after watching season 2. After that this series rarely stopped being amazing and season 4 was when it became one of the best animes ever for me as well.

It takes a while to find its footing, I don't think a lot of the character interactions or pacing in the beginning are that engaging but it gets progressively better as the story continues.

it starts getting good at the beginning of s3. before then, the show has its strong characters (Erwin, Levi, Mikasa) but because it necessarily focuses on Eren, and because Eren is an annoying piece of shit, it is kind of bad. 2nd season is better than 1st. 3rd and 4th are unreservedly VERY good. But only if you can sit through 18 hours of horseshit will it be worth it for you

AOT has one of the strongest mainstream anime starting seasons ever. it'll get worse, not better. if you don't like season 1 then just drop it and move on. (though it'll get very marginally better in s3)

I also found it boring in the beginning but I got interested from Season 4 but the release schedule is just too bad to like it.
So my overall experience is not really good.

and most importantly cut off anything related to AoT from all social platforms, especially Ig , yt and these type of threads , you'll surely get spoiled and trust me you'll never see the plot twist coming....
so trust a stranger on MAL for the first time and continue watching the show , enjoy the op and eds and be free from all sort of spoilers at the end of this journey you'll realise you've made many wonderful memories just by watching this series , And the conclusion is going to come soon , so you'll able to witness it glorious end with everyone

tbh I think season 1 and season 3 part 2 are the best the show got. I think AOT is really amazing at having really intense life threatening situations and seeing how they make it out. Imo the story and characters are p overrated and it all comes off a bit too rushed and the show never lets stuff cook it likes to run onto the next plot point.

second half of s1 imo. the mission outside of the walls builds incredible suspense and adds onto the mystery of the nature of titans. the characterization of hange and erwin absolute sold me on the series.

Objectively it gets good at episode 1. If that's not the case for you something is wrong with you. I suggest you go see a doctor or it's ok if you are just trying to be unique.

I enjoyed from episode 1 so I couldn't really tell you when it starts to get good. but if you watch to the end and realize the twists and foreshadowing, the show instantly becomes a lot better.

The first time I watched it, it started getting good around ep 5 but even then I did find some parts boring in season 1 part 1 which I skipped but part 2 is where the storyline starts picking up, progressing a lot more and starts becoming more interesting. season 1 part 2 is easily one of my favourite parts

Good news is that it DOES change significantly as it goes along - more than once actually.

In fact, if the first season felt more like a slightly more mature & bloody shonen, the second season is more of a slowburn mystery.

Third season has the peaks of both action as well as HUGE game-changing reveals.

Fourth season is practically an entirely different, EXTREMELY political drama, which builds up to some hard-hitting action & jaw-dropping twists of its own.

Seasons 3 & 4 (except perhaps the latter's final couple of episodes) are widely considered the best part. If they hadn't fumbled the very end, these 2 seasons alone would have been enough to call this work an "all time great", above even the likes of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood & Steins Gate.

So yeah, while the first 2 seasons are good in their own ways, if you're seriously asking when this show gets "REALLY GOOD"? Season 3 onwards, all the way until the last few eps of Season 4. The absolute PEAK of our time in mainstream anime storytelling.

Its pretty entertaining, the first two seasons may have some boring dialogue but they’re good. The 3rd one is also great, the second half of the 3rd one is where the story actually gets good. At this point you’ll just binge watch the entire show. It’s great.
