Given that both Yuki Kajiura and Gen Urobuchi are working on this, I have fairly high expectations. I don't want to over expect after Bubble but the PV was just so good that it makes me want to be hyped. How do you guys feel? |

I'm hopeful, but there's still room left to botch it. |

AchromicBloom said: edit: not an original, LN adaptation it seems. It's kinda an original since the story was originally written for an anime movie proposal that came to Nitroplus almost 20 years ago. After that it was reformatted for a 1 cour animation yet the progress has stopped and everyone forgot about it until Gagaga Bunko decided to revive it in a light novel form (source https://twitter.com/eisen__flugel/status/1573572136848871424 https://twitter.com/digitarou/status/1573635031851208705) Once upon a time, there was this eroge company called Nitroplus. Out of the blue, they got an offer for a theatrical anime project. So, the scriptwriter came up with a plan where dragons and jet planes have a showdown in another world. The president said, "Condense this into a single season anime format." The panicked scriptwriter spiced up the content. But then, there was no progress on the project, and everyone forgot about it. After a while, the scriptwriter, now connected with Gagaga Bunko, remembered the shelved idea and decided, "Oh, what about that thing?" They dusted off the proposal and turned it into a two-volume novel. Then, after some more time passed, Aniplex came along and asked, "Wanna make this into a movie?" And that`s how Eisen Flugel is finally becaming a theatrical anime after nearly 20 years. The end. |

a-1 pictures, kajiura yuki, urobuchi gen... gods, this is stacked. i actually had no idea that this would ever get an adaptation, i thought eisen flügel was a forgotten light novel and only chanced upon an article today about its announcement. theme military and genre fantasy? it's not if i'll watch it, it's when! i have nothing but grand expectations. can you even butcher this... |

Mixed. Kajiura is great at what she does, but it's dependent on the Director's ability to have the characters shut up and let the scene tell the story. Urobuchi used to be great at what he does, but he hasn't directly written a new show to score a 7 or higher on MAL since ten years ago. Director doesn't have a major win under his belt yet. |
