| As someone who became an overnight fan of this series, I've watched all of the episodes of the 2018 series, 22 episodes of the 1968 series, every episode of Hakaba Kitaro, and 17 episodes of the 2007 series. With all these under my belt, I cannot even begin to make an educated guess of how dark this movie will be. Anybody who's watched Hakaba Kitaro already knows that that thing that happened in episode 1 of that series will happen here (You know if you know), but besides that dark moment, and the lead-up to it, I have no idea what to expect. Any guesses? |

Nothing past those episodes has been fansubbed, sadly. |

Article translation: The teaser visual drawn by Toru Tani, who is in charge of character design, shows Kitaro's father standing among several Jizo statues, while Mizuki is dressed in a suit and holding a Type 38 infantry rifle. Kitaro is also shown wearing his yellow and black chanchanko. The Jizo statues are covered in a large amount of splattered blood, creating a creepy atmosphere. "Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of Gegege" will be produced as part of Mizuki's 100th anniversary project. As part of the same project, the anime "Akuma-kun" will also be released and will be streamed on Netflix in 2023. |

| I plan to go see the movie tomorrow at the earliest, but I heard an advice on twitter that I should watch the first episode of Graveyard Kitaro and the first episode of the 6th season before seeing this movie, so I think I'll go after watching them just in case. |

| @zakster1928 Simply put, it is a story before Kitaro was born, leading to one of the Graveyard Kitaro stories. The content is more horror and mystery.
