Really was such a step up from the 1st and especially the 2nd season. Impressive how good it was as it really did kind of captures the the good parts of the the main show and took it in a more serious story driven approach. Great movie was a good send off for the anime if that is all that will be made.

Thus movie is one of my fav anime movie of all time. I watched it straight after binging the both season and man it was great. The amount of effort put into the direction, visual and soundtrack was just phenomenal imo.

Right?
It's an absolute masterpiece, not very often you see anime movies being better than their TV series
Nino is the objectively superior one, don't @ me

Yeah the show has its faults but the movie really just tops it’s off so nicely. 8/10 show, 10/10 movie!

Yup, S2 is kinda a dampener - Sure it's an interesting dampener but the endless 8 is ultimately not worth it and the whole thing happening before the finale of s1 makes it anti-climatic.

For me the movie came in to rekindle what I liked about this series and left a good taste in my mouth as an ending of sorts😊👍.

I did not expect the sequel to a 7/10 show be one of my all time favorite movies ever, but this was a damn masterpiece.

honestly, surprisingly underrated. how is this not in the top 50?

Yup, a HUGE step forward compared to S2, disappointing that this is not in the top 50. I hope it'll at least stay in the top 100

Yesss, I just watched it yesterday and wow, the development our main lead got was amazing, it really hit hard, and the animation was superb, as expected from KyoAni,but damn, 13 years after release and it still holds up, they always blow the budget on their works

One of the greats. Only one movie comes close and that's Mystery of Mamo.
