It was my first anime and it's been a while since I last rewatched but from what I remember I'd say, it's mostly entertaining and sometimes cringey.
It's humour is usually based on the troupey characters, so you might find it repetitive. I wouldn't really say it's a great comedy anime, it's just entertaining.

It's by the creator of Grand Blue, which is in your favourites. That alone should make you want to watch Baka to Test.

Yeah, I agree with all your points. It’s worth watching because why not (and Akihisa’s va is a legend), but the 2 love interests are both horribly written. A lot of the jokes related to Yuji, the FFF, and the Pervert Ninja were A/S+ tier though

Its super wholesome and every ep had me close to tears. If ur on the fence funimation has some clips on their yt u can look at before but def worth the watch
