| All patlabor entries apart from the new OVA (yes that's what it's called) are self contained. I don't understand why would you wanna only watch the second film "because of Oshii" though. The first film is also by Oshii. In fact the only entries Oshii wasn't involved in are the third film and Reboot. |

Of course that doesn't make his other "less serious" work not worth watching. |
