I think Nadescico stills the same as the series. I think all anime movies from before the digital era are a little dark. Its just a theory but, if Nadescico was a parody of anime series form the 80s, dont you think that the movie is also a parodie of anime movies like Akira, Ghost in the Shell and etc? I inclined to believe so.
