I really like Revy on how she is an Asian American, even though she isn't my favorite character in series. I honestly think Revy might be the ONLY Asian American in anime.

Asian Americans have a rough history, where even if they are born in North America, they are seen as perpetual foreigners.

It is cool to see them represented in an Anime!

I like Roberta. Wish more anime like it will be made. The twins were awesome, the 3rd season was the best.

It's better than Gangsta, Canaan, El Cazador de la Bruja, Noir and Akudama Drive.

Thanks for spelling out my thoughts. We're not in the early 2000s when there's a certain ethnicity in a show only to fill a minority quota.

Although I think this is bait. Cheap bait but still.

I don't necessarily think anything is wrong about liking a character just because of their ethnicity in an anime WHERE so many ethnicities were represented. Black Lagoon featured various European races in addition to multiple other Asian ethnicities. When was the last time you saw an anime that diverse?

Furthermore, why would an author bother to make one of the most diverse cast in an anime? If anything, they could have gone the route of either having a monolithic cast, but instead chose to implement a wide range of races in the story.

Not to mention there is nothing wrong about having representation in any medium. One of the biggest reason Black Panther was popular was because the movie is a good representation for African-Americans.

Oh, there are definitely more Asian-Americans in anime than Revy. Banana Fish has quite a few. However, Revy really does stand out.
