| So "Chiaki" appears in the series, as far as i see it there are 2 posibilities: 1. The setting is the same as in DR2, which would actually make Zetsubou-hen a direct sequel to DR2. Maybe they are doing this to recover their lost friends. 2. "Chiaki" is an original character that may or may not have a family relationship with Fujisaki, she could also just be the real Chiaki that formed as a base for DR2 Chiaki. Also i have a terrible fear that Izuru Kamukura may end up killing "Chiaki" which may trigger the events for the rest of the series. Disclaimer: I havent read the novels so maybe i dont have all the information regarding such event |

I have a theory that Miaya is the true Chiaki.. Or she died. Either way. I mean, the thing with Miaya, she helped Chihiro and Matsuda create the Neo world program. If Miaya was Chiaki, maybe she created herself a new identity and added in an AI of herself to the game. I know people think she's Monaca but she's too old and is hinted to be able to walk in episode 1 but decides not to. I mean, this is one theory.. The other is that she's dead and I'm probably going to cry if anything happens to her or Gundam's hamsters.  |

I have many theories on what's going to happen but I decided to mention the one that I haven't seen mentioned on the forums before.  |

At this point that is the only way i can see her survive, that or falling into a coma. I wouldnt say your theory is soo far fetched considering DR2 Chiaki and Despair Arc Chiaki are 2 completely different characters (as far as we know). Still... she is getting close to Hajime, usually this would be a good thing because of Shipping purposes but Izurus spirit will be broken at some point. It could be Chiaki falling into despair and Izuru taking revenge because of it but it could also just be Chiaki getting killed. |
| i used to hope #1 was gonna be the big plot-twister but after thinking a bit more, #2 is most likely. chiaki gets killed by izuru, izuru falls deeper into despair. also game spoiler: but chapter 0 of dr2 got me thinking that deep inside, hajime/izuru was conscious of himself and chiaki's importance to him. though he was the one who revived ai junko, he did it because he's nevertheless "ultimate hope" and hoped to take back some of his past self knowing junko will lose again. there was a dialogue which said he's going to use junko like she used him. so the romantic in me says he did it to see chiaki one more time, since he knew they'll put ai chiaki in the program. |

Latest DR3 Future episode showed a scene with Izuru standing near some flowers in a bottle of water, which im pretty sure is what people do when they are moarning does who passed away. It cant be for anyone but Chiaki so what you said makes a lot of sense |

Also there is like a 1% that Izuru saves Chiaki but she ends comatosed or something among those lines, that would explain how they got the AI but she wasnt able to participate. If she survives she could still be the 13th branch leader, but this is extremely unlikely, i will still hope for it. |
