 ~ Orange ~ Synopsis "One day, Naho Takamiya receives a letter written to herself from ten years in the future. As Naho reads on, the letter recites the exact events of the day, including the transfer of a new student into her class named Kakeru Naruse. The Naho from ten years later repeatedly states that she has many regrets, and she wants to fix these by making sure the Naho from the past can make the right decisions—especially regarding Kakeru. What's more shocking is that she discovers that ten years later, Kakeru will no longer be with them. | Orange was our featured manga not long ago and since I didn't finish it this will be a good opportunity to know the story ^^ Fist episode was pretty much all I read of the manga xD... so no surprises so far... still a fine first episode. If I had a latter from myself from 10 years on the future I would read it asap ... |

| I wasn't much on a reading mood at the time hehe oh the moment when Orange has more football than days (an anime about football) It was a good episode... Sometimes just knowing what you should do isn't enough xD She keeps reading just a little by little .. i mean.. read the whole already. |

That´s exactly my main problem with this anime so far. Which person reads aletter like this, and even if it would say she should just read it step for step, i don´t think any person could do that without suffering a curiosity attack and reading it all (or the other natural reaction would be to throw it away as you do not want to know what´s gonna happen) also i don´t get this regret bullshit. Her older self hs married, has a little kid and looks happy. She lost a dear friend, big deal. This happens in life sometimes and since she was obviously in love back then, does she really want to "save" her future self from becoming a wife and mother living a normal life? Something is wrong with her! Also the introduction to this story is horrible. Here´s a letter with your future in it. One should think this is a huge deal, but the letter is just there all of a sudden in the most unspectacular scene ever...and she doesn´t even seem to be surprised at all to realise the letter is actually not a fake... What is this kind of storytelling??? This is disappointing so far. gotta blame the manga more than the anime on the other hand since it´s adapted. The studio is doing really fine with the animation and the at least the characters are good all the way through so there´s potential. |
But i do think however this show as potencial to became a powerfull drama tho ^^ Yeah Tuggys! I believe the drama on this anime might be good. I'm enjoying so far. The interactions between chars are good, I love the animation and the pace for me is quite right. Don't think that'll turn out bad. |
| Ep 4 is the new low point so far. This episode finally helped me to conclude that not a single one of those characters deserves to find happiness haha I´ll rate this a 10 if it has a sad ending. You gotta give the author credit when he realises JUSTICE muahaha You have a married mom who was able to keep her friends from school who hates this fact so much she wants to change her past and a guy dating a horrible girl he doesn´t know just for looks. The more normal characters are just playing supporters... I´m happy i watched this before watching Ep 4 of Amaama. I´ll keep doing it this way so every time Orange makes me mad, i´ll let Amaama cheer me back up again... |
| loool Phils xD I'm still enjoying so far. I agree the last episode was low, both last ones were some kind of school drama ... really meh. But I like the group. About Kakeru datiing that gilr because of looks, still agree. C'mon >__> The supports chars are good. And I'm still curious to know what happened with Kakeru. |
| oh wow Ep 5 went into the parallel world theory indicating that future Nahoactually can´t change her own reality and also knowing that she can´t. If this proves to be correct, she might not be as horrible as i found her to be early on lol This was a little step forward for me, at least for my personal mindset as i move on with this show. Generally the best episode so far apart from the fact that it featured the shittiest song ever played at a anime school festival haha Still underwhelming but potential is rising! |
| Just caught up with this show. CALLED IT! Everyone got a letter! Another chance to surprise me and therefore another chance to redeem itself is gone. This anime is not gonna get a very good rating from me, i´m sorry... However, i did manage to watch the three episodes i missed back to back and it wasn´t more or less annoying than watching just one episode, so the rating won´t be horrible either i guess. This show is definitely not good but it´s also not bad, it´s just...underwhelming... |
| Ep 9 made me facepalm so hard it left fingerprints on my forehead. This was one of the worst episodes in Romance/Drama history. Since it undid the slight improvements from episodes 5-8, Orange by now would be absolute drop material but thankfully it´s just an episode per week and just four episodes left so i can handle wasting 25 minutes per week for a little longer. I sincerely hope they manage to change the future and consequently, the universe collapses and destroys itself for whatever pseudo-scientific reason. This is the ending the characters and this anime deserves. |
| What a shame. I loved ranting about this anime so much until now and i was already mentally prepared to destroy it once it´s over. Now all of a sudden Orange delivers an amazing second-to-last episode with Kakeru reflecting on everything that happened. The episode the previous week was alright too so the ending seems to be good. No anime has made me so angry all year long so far, now i´m so split on it that with only one episode to go, it could end up as low as a 4 and as high as a 7. I really don´t know what to think of this show, so i´m gonna wait and give my final verdict once it´s over o.O. |

When in doubt, throw some letters into the Bermuda Triangle... Anyway, I just finished the series, and I can say that it does stay faithful to the Manga. However, I say that the ending in the Anime was handled much better than in the Manga, so I will give it credit for that. For those who read the Manga as it was featured in the club, I bashed on the Manga because of how stupid it was. To my surprise, the anime kept true to its stupidity, haha! I did not like the first episode because of all the nonsense going on. The dramatic scenes weren't bad, but how they came to be is what I found unbelievable . Excessive melodrama, plot devices, and our incompetent protagonist just couldn't hold up the anime together. There is one thing that I will give credit to the anime for, which helped clear up a problem I had with the manga. Originally, I thought of Orange as a time-travel story. However the anime gave me a new perspective of the theme. Since the focus was more on parallel worlds rather than time travel, I viewed Orange's story as a "What if..." scenario. We all know that throwing letters into the Bermuda Triangle to send them back in time in a parallel world is total bull. However, if it DID succeed, this story of Orange is what would have happened. The "Dead Kakeru" is the real world, and the "Living Kakeru" is the "What if..." World. With that perspective, I raised my rating of the Anime a little higher than the Manga...but just a little. Even then, I still say that the story is total ass! |
