~ Handa-kun ~

Synopsis
"Set six years prior to the events of Barakamon, detailing the life of Seishuu Handa as a high school student—and a very interesting life it is.

In Handa-kun, Seishuu Handa is admired by his peers as a calligraphy genius and given the utmost respect, but Handa-kun himself is under the mistaken impression that the deference and attention he receives from the other students is actually bullying. Handa just wants to live a quiet life, but hilarity ensues as one character after another challenges his position as the school idol, and somehow comes away as a fan all while Handa is horrified and clueless."

Pretty funny first episode.
The beginning was interesting.. and different from what we are used to.

Still no idea of what we are going to see during this anime.
Handa seems to live in his own world and has like 0 common sense.

I actually dropped the anime in 5 minutes. Not funny at all, and I wasn't in the mood for this.

Interesting because the real anime begins in the minute 12~15 , so you didn't drop the anime.. you didn't even watch it '-'

I watched enough to see that it was going to be a lame comedy. If it's there, then it's part of the anime.

If 5 minutes was enough for you to decide if it's good or not, it means you probably didn't want to watch it to begin with...

If I didn't want to watch it I wouldn't have started it. I knew it had something to do with Barakamon, so I started it without knowing anything else. It turned out bad, so I dropped it. And that's it.

Starting watching something and wanting to watch something are two different things...
but sure you can drop something without properly watching it, no problem.

What's watching something properly? In my opinion, watching it without prejudge during 5 minutes is proper enough. If they didn't want me to watch the first part of the episode, they shouldn't have aired it.

If the thing has 5 minutes and you watch it for 5 minutes then yeah, that's properly ... now if something has 20 minutes and you watch 5 minutes that obviously weren't the real anime/show/thing (in this case) then no '-'
I'm not trying to defend this specific anime here though.
I'm just saying that "dropping" an anime after watching 5 minutes of the first episode isn't really dropping imo... it's more like not really wanting to watch it for whatever reason it is , maybe you didn't like the art, or isn't in the mood to watch or any other reason... still it's not a 'drop' .

Last year, I used to watch anime on an phone app, but it suddenly stopped working: videos closed at 2 minutes, so I had 2 minutes to choose whether an anime was worth downloading or not. I grew quite accustomed to it, so now I recognise if I'll like an anime or not in a few seconds, and I feel pretty confident that it's the right thing to do. If an anime can't prove to be interesting in, not 2 minutes but 1/4 of an episode, it's probably not worth watching.

well did you watch sakamoto kun? it's pretty similar , the kind of comedy ... a bit better because handa is a better / funnier character than sakamoto... still not what I was expecting of the anime.

I didn't really like Sakamoto, it was funny a few times but it largely felt like the same joke recycled a million times
