A gorilla was shot and killed by zookeepers after a four-year-old boy fell into its enclosure.. Thats the main title and here is a link below with more information. My question is, the zoo keepers did the right thing or the wrong thing?

I think in this case trying to use tranquillisers would be a bad idea, as it could enrage the gorrilla and he ain't gonna go to sleep quick enough to ensure the kid's safety.

So yeah it was the right call, the best end to a unfortunate situation.

Wrong thing. I hate zoos. At least the gorilla is finally free.

Oh, I thought they killed it afterwards. That's different.

It was the childs mistake and he is at fault. But instead of suffering for the consequences of his actions and his parents neglect, the gorilla is the one that has to pay the ultimate price.

Such arrogance of human life.

It was right.

4 years old boy = human.
Gorilla = not human.

Human > not human.

Of course it did not automatically mean that the gorilla would have killed or harmed the body if they had not killed him. But it is okay to take no risk/lower the risk.

They should've shot the kid instead ^^
Human population > Gorilla population so it'd be fine. Killing one child won't do much to human population anyway :P

As sad it is, also true. They would've face lawsuits etc. if anything happened to the boy, that's also an another way to think.

And the saddest part is no one blamed the parents of what happened..

almost extinct Gorillas Species < Human boy?

The gorilla walked around with the kid for ten minutes... and the reason they shot him with a rifle because dart guns take longer?

It was wrong to kill the gorilla.

Nah the right move was to shoot the mom, apparently having parents that are missing a few brain synapses is acceptable in society. The Gorilla was doing a better job as a parent than that moronic mom, at least the the ape had the right idea of holding the child and not letting go.

I think it was the right thing to do, and it's not like the kid was fully aware at that age. Not really a happy resolution for this either way though.

I'm guessing the father is out of the picture, at any rate the mother should be punished (or the parents but I doubt that is the case), it was the right decision to kill the gorilla, animal life is meaningless.

They could've idk maybe sent a physically able adult with a tazer or a stun gun as a decoy until they rescued the child?

Nah, that'd require them to think. Don't wanna waste dem brain cells..

Don't be stupid, you might not like the choice they made but that gorilla could have easily smashed that kid's head in a heartbeat if he felt that there was a single chance of a threat.

They had to shoot it to ensure that kid didn't get killed

dude, would you want to be in here with these two with just a tazer? they have forearms bigger than your head lmao

Don't necessarily have to go near them or anything.
Idk they could've even lured then from outside as well.
