 ~ Koe de Oshigoto! ~ Synopsis Koe de Oshigoto! is a story about Kanna Aoyagi, a sixteen-year-old girl who was asked to become a voice actress for eroge (erotic game) by her older sister on Kanna's sixteenth birthday. Kanna does not want to become a voice actress at first, but after she thinks about all of the things her sister did for her when she was growing up, and knowing that she owes her, she finally agrees. However, Kanna is still very nervous about being a voice actress for such games. As the story progresses, she becomes more and more comfortable with the requirements of the job. | So I got this recommendation one night from HaXX. If any of you know HaXX, then well, now you understand. So when I saw this leaf of the week I thought it was a perfect time to get this out of the way. Glad to see it at least benefited someone else XD. The show does a good job making you awkward even watching it. Personally I would think they'd just hire pornstars to be the voice actors for this game. It would make sense. For only 60 minutes. The progression of her having to do all her "duties" is done pretty well. I think I could only handle 2 episodes of this though. I'll give it a 7 out of 10 for "reasons". |

| The quality of animation is really bad and i was not impressed with the OP and Ed song eith...okay just fuck it, as if anyone gives a damn about these things in a show like this lol To be honest, i know it´s a wrong as it gets and yeah, it is basically a cencored hentai...but i have to say it is pretty hilarious, so if the main goal is to entertain me in a comedic kind of way, it works very well lol If it tries to turn me on it kinda fails, because i´m just not a freakin´ pedophile! Looks like i finally found a anime sister that´s even more evil then Umaru...getting your 16-year old innocent imouto into THIS...i am speechlees haha If this thread would´ve started today, i totally would´ve thought it´s a April Fools joke. I will rate it a 6, but only because i think this a test from god and if i rate it any higher, i am bound to spend my afterlife in hell lol |
| Hehe, alright, I'll give my two cents on this. After watching Rec, I can sympathize with what this anime is trying to convey. Voice acting is a tough job because of the many people who are looking for a position, so they have to do whatever it takes to get some voicing experience, even if that includes doing eroge. It's just like how Kotori said that she was able to land a job in an anime but started in eroge. Many professional voice actresses have to go through this at least once. Nana Mizuki herself stated that she had to practice voicing ecchi and hentai when she was dubbing for Cross Ange. And since that is true, I can tell you right now that the high-profile voice actresses from Queen's Blade had to voice something like this (Ayako Kawasumi, Mamiko Noto, Rie Tanaka, Rie Kugimiya, Eri Kitamura, Hitomi Nabatame, Shizuka Ito, Yuki Kaida, Sayaka Ohara, Aya Hirano, Yuko Kaida, Haruka Tomatsu,). Do you know what I find most surprising about this anime? The lead voice actress, Mako, has no hentai titles under her name, so she gets all my respect for voicing such a daring role in an anime like this. Now as for the anime itself, it's pretty straightforward, but it was funny because of how bold it was being and that the lead character was embarrassed in doing such a lewd act. I really liked how they showed how they made the lewd sounds, like sucking on a finger, or going for a run to get the voice right. I also liked how they showed Kanna hiding her secret as an eroge seiyuu. The ero scenes weren't necessary though, and I didn't really expand that much to them. I would have preferred it if they just did nothing but voice clips and then you just think about it in your head, hehehe. I like it when an anime treads into a territory that not many are willing to enter, and I say that they succeeded in Koe de Oshigoto. The anime would have been much better if they toned down or just simply removed the ero scenes and just keep the voices. Anybody can stare at a beautiful naked body, but it is the quality of the voice acting where the dongs really begin to expand, just like that one scene where they tried to get Motoki to expand dong by talking to him seductively. This anime needed more scenes like that. I really liked this anime, and now I'm interested in reading the Manga. |

| @Tarotist I totally agree about the porn scenes. Without them it would´ve been funnier and even charming. It also would have pointed out what you have to go through as a voice actress in your early career better. I think this part was destroyed not only by the porn scenes but also by this..ahem..."ability" of the main girl to actually have orgasms through imagination itself. The way it is they turned what could have been a show about the tough start of a seiyuu career into a show about a girl discovering her sexuality through voice acting...i would have preferred to watch the first rather than the latter... also, it is very common for voice actresses to start out in eroge as you pointed out. However, i don´t think any of them was underaged at the time they did it. I´d be pretty shocked if it´s a normal thing for voice actresses to voice hentai at age 16... |
| @PhKay. And Japan's legal age of consent is 13, but I get what you are saying. I could dig a little deeper and see if I can find a younger eroge seiyuu, hehehe... Being 16 and voicing eroge may seem surprising, but we don't know that because young seiyuus tend to hide their identities, as you saw in the anime. Actually, since many eroge seiyuus have aliases for their works in eroges, we might not know the actual ages of the actors themselves. And when they break into the mainstream anime scene, they use another name, maybe their legal name or a stage name to hide their identity as an eroge VA (like Shizuka Ito, who uses an alias for her eroge credits). Start off early, then step into the light... Also, some eroges have "all-ages" versions of them, so even if there are no ero-scenes, they still have to voice the characters. |
