Okayyy, to avoid spams in the main Club Suggestions thread,, I made a thread specialized for making suggestions and modifications of this Pokemon RP Battle Game made by one of our beloved Staff DJAnime.
Hopefully many members can actively participate in suggesting and developing the game,, so that when the game is launched, everyone will be happy to participate and play it..
Everyone's participation in this would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance ^_^
There are 4 teams: Water Type, Fire Type, Grass Type, and Normal Type. Players get to choose 1 of the 4 teams to play on (try to make it fair). The objective of the game is to reach their final evolution. Each team must evolve 3x. In order to evolve they need to kill 2 teams. Once they evolve their stats scale up and health/PP scale up.
Each team starts with 200 HP and 50 PP (Scales up when Pokemon evolves)
*PP is used to use Special Moves (cost 10 PP per use at first evolution).
Types: Each team is weak/strong against another team (besides Normal Type). Grass Type: Super effective against Water Type Water Type: Super effective against Fire Type Fire Type: Super effective against Grass Type
The Super Effective bonus lets Speical Moves do a added +3 damage to whatever team they are super effective against.
Combat
Each turn a player has 5 moves(Like the Attack and Cure Game) OR they may use a special move.
They can either attack, raise HP, or raise PP. However they can only raise HP/PP 3x per turn. Each team can't exceed their max HP (first evolution can't go past 200/200)
Example:
Togepi Attack Bulbasaur 1x, Attack Squirtle 4x (Togepi Gains 1 point for killing Bulbasaur (takes 2 points to evolve), Bulbasaur HP and PP will be filled after death)
Charmander:
HP:2/200
PP:50/50
Squirtle:
HP:194/200
PP:50/50
Bulbasaur:
HP:0/200
PP:45/50
Togepi:
HP:200/200
PP:50/50
Togepi Attacks Charmander 5x (gets his 2nd point, therefor next turn he has evolved to the next form. Poster has to change his name/stats to the next evolution. HP/PP are filled after evolution)
Chamander:
HP:0/200
PP:50/50
Squirrel:
HP:192/200
PP:50/50
Bulbasaur:
HP:200/200
PP:50/50
Togetic:
HP:210/210
PP:60/60
Special Moves
Special moves can do 7x damage to a single target (Scales up when evolved)
*If they are supper effective against the type they attack, it does +3 damage (10 damage total)
Example:
Squirtle uses Bubble on Charmander 10x damage (7x plus 3 for being super effective, cost 10 PP to use. Which scales up during evolution)
Charmander:
HP:190/200
PP:50/50
Squirtle:
HP:200/200
PP:40/50
Bulbasaur:
HP:200/200
PP:50/50
Togepi:
HP:200/200
PP:50/50
Togepi uses punch on Squirtle 8x damage (Togepi has higher base damage, but can't give/take super effective damage)
Charmander:
HP:190/200
PP:50/50
Squirtle:
HP:192/200
PP:40/50
Bulbasaur:
HP:200/200
PP:50/50
Togepi:
HP:200
PP:40/50
Normal Type special moves do 8x damage (scales up when evolved), and doesn't get any special effective bonus.
What happends upon death/Evolution?
When a teams Pokemon hits 0 HP, their HP and PP are reset to max.
The same happened when a Pokemon evolves, a team member (or whoever posts next) will update that said Pokemon with its new upgraded stats (seen in the Evolution Scaling).

Just jotting some notes down, rules are subjected to change in the future.

When players attack a team that they are supper effective against they can do +3 damage.
* Normal types do the same damage to every single team *Only works while performing special attacks
Each team starts with 200 HP and 50 PP (which scales up as you evolve *#'s are tbd)
PP is used to use special attacks that cost 10 per use
Each turn a player has 4 moves OR they may use a special move . They can either attack, raise HP, or raise PP. However they can only raise HP/PP 2x per turn.
Special moves can do 7x damage to a single target.

Water Type: Squirtle
Fire Type: Charmander
Grass Type: Bulbasour
Normal Type: *TBD
I have edited the first post to include all the rules and characters.
You can edit them when there is any modification or any additions XD
Quick questions:
1. A team here means a single pokemon or a team can consist more than 3 or 4 pokemon?
2. What is the size limit of a team?
3. So the user can play only using a single pokemon or a user can play more than 1 pokemon? [maybe a single user with only 1 pokemon would be easier]?? XD
4. Other than abilities, how much energy is damaged per turn if use a simple attack or raise HP? Every pokemon can use cure? How many actions per turn is allowed?
Will it use the same template Attack and Cure that I made [the one that we usually play] --> i.e 5 actions allowed per single turn ?
5. Can a user use simple attack and ability at a single turn simultaneously?
DJAnime said: I'll be updating rules and stuff later, I'll take a look at the other threads also.. I think most people don't notice the stickied threads
Yeahhh Im so excited,, CHARIZARD,,, ggrraaaooowwwrrrr!!!
1. A team here means a single pokemon or a team can consist more than 3 or 4 pokemon?
There is 4 teams, each team only has 1 Pokemon they are trying to evolve
2. What is the size limit of a team?
To be determined, matters on # of willing participants. Maybe a sign up tread for RP games will be nice (but you don't need to sign up to play). I'd like even teams though (maybe spread out the very active forum posters, if they are willing to be moved around)
3. So the user can play only using a single pokemon or a user can play more than 1 pokemon? [maybe a single user with only 1 pokemon would be easier]?? XD.
I was thinking this as a team game to start with (like rabbit, snake, turtle game), but we could do individuals after if it's a hit
If it's easier we could use 5, I was thinking around the same basis as attack and cure. Healing abilities/raising PP can only be used maxed 2x per turn.
5. Can a user use simple attack and ability at a single turn simultaneously?
You can either use your 5 moves OR use your special ability
3. So the user can play only using a single pokemon or a user can play more than 1 pokemon? [maybe a single user with only 1 pokemon would be easier]?? XD.
I was thinking this as a team game to start with (like rabbit, snake, turtle game), but we could do individuals after if it's a hit
Yeahh, surely you can make something like that. A Sign-up thread can be made for that if individual :D ,, like my Anime Battle Tactics XD
Those looks great DJ,, I would suggest all those rules are made and organized using numbering system. Like:
Rule 1. bla bla bla
Rule 2. bla bla bla
Rule 3. bla bla bla
Rule 4. bla bla bla
Rule 5. bla bla bla
Also, once finished, a demonstration of gameplay would be helpful, and very important :)
The more detail the explanation, the more helpful to follow, obviously :D
When a team dies, what happens to it? does members just cure them again from 0 HP?
If that's the case, look at this example:
Charmander:2 HP 50 PP
Squirtle:180 HP 50 PP
Bulbasaur:100 HP 20 PP
Togepi: 100HP 20PP
Let's say squirtle attacks charmander 1x, he will end up killing him right? Will his PP go to 0 too?
then for him to revive, like in rabbit race thread, member will need to cure him from 0 HP to his max HP, then let's say members are still curing him when this happen:
(User from squirtle team) Attack Charmander 2x, (since the attack is effective charmander will die again).
Charmander:4 HP 50 PP
Squirtle:180 HP 50 PP
Bulbasaur:100 HP 20 PP
Togepi: 100HP 20PP
So, if charmander died again squirtle team killed another team 2x, then he is able to evolve right? if he does the same thing more 2 times, he will evolve into a blastoise, while charmander will be heavily behind in the game, and the other teams will be in a bad situation since blastoise will have thousands of bonus the other teams don't have.
So you guys saw the problem in the example right?
To counter this, i thought that the dead pokemon could be "cured" by nurse joy, like in the anime and in the game, thus charmander would come back in full heatlh, but then another 2 problems appear:
Let's say the battle was really equal, and one team managed to win like this:
Charmander:0 HP 50 PP
Squirtle:2 HP 50 PP
Bulbasaur:100 HP 20 PP
Togepi: 100HP 20PP
then charmander will be cured and will come back like this:
Charmander:200 HP 50 PP
Squirtle:2 HP 50 PP
Bulbasaur:100 HP 20 PP
Togepi: 100HP 20PP
Then charmander will kill squirtle, what is a bit unfair in my opnion. also let's say charmander team already had the lead, if that happened charmander would be able to achieve his 2nd kill while squirtle would just have 1, then he would evolve what would be a problem to squirtle team and he would end up losing. (yeah i'm not counting the super effective advantage in this case, but it you guys understood the problem right? charmander will have a unfair bonus).
And the second problem would be that the game would never end, cause everytime a team died he would be fully cured and thus there would be no end and no winner, if there is no winner for the game, it will get boring sometime and ppl will stop playing.
Solutions
To solve the unfair (if it really is unfair) healing after a team got defeated, we could nerf the healing to instead of fully healing the pokemon heal just 50% of it's HP, like if the trainer used a Revive or smth (if you don't know what a revive is, go play the game), this way it would be a bit less unfair.
Other way to solve this is, when a team is defeated, all the pokemon are healed to max yeah this could make an issue like bulbasaur and charmander were killing themselves and at the same time togepi and squirtle were killing themselves, bulbasaur was defeated and everyone was cured, so togepi and squirtle fight couldn't be finished...
The 2nd option would create a problem, and would make the game way longer, but is still an option, so you guys decide it.
Minor details
The last move of charizard flamethrower isn't his best move, it would be flare blitz, he learns it when you lvl him up more in the game, and since i noticed that all the moves in the pokemons last evolutions are their most strong moves, i noticed charizard move was wrong.
Also in togetic move, ancient power, the move ancient power isn't a normal type move, it's a rock type move, so i would sugest to change it.
And in togekiss form his move is double edge, a move that in the game has a recoil of 30% of the dmg, Of course we can look away at this detail, but what i really want to say is that double edge isn't his best move either, Togekiss best move is Giga Impact.
So i would recommend put double edge (ignoring the fact of the 30% dmg recoil) as Togetic move and put Giga Impact as Togekiss move.
^It looks like I forgot to add in "what happends after death/evolution" in the main explanation (I explained it all in the attack tutorial). Basically once the Pokemon evolves or dies, both their HP and PP are completely filled.
I think the damage each Pokemon outputs will make it very hard to heal a Pokemon. So I think dieing is going to be a regular thing happening within the game, it's hard to guess (since its never been played) but I don't think games will last too long (if people are actively posting).
Okay I'll change up some of the moves, I did some from the top of my head (so they might not be the strongest). Normal moves are hard to find though (ones that do damage atleast).
Scratch that, to cold to come out from under my blankets and type my fingers are freezing typing this
I'll do it tommorow, pray I get a ice day and have tons of free time to write and finish it :3
I tried to rearrange it so it's easier to read, I still think it's to long (but I don't like to read much). But I think it's about ready, it be nice to have some cool pokeballs to break up the quotes though :3
Besides that, I stole all the Pokemon pictures online. So they may disappear if they arnt rehosted not a big deal, I'll just check the pictures in the spoiler ever so often.
Hey DJ, sorry for the late response, its final exam weeks, and its a very hectic weeks for me @_@
that looks perfect to me, at least more than enough for us to start the game. Great Job :D
I guess we should just start launching it and try the game, and see if further modification is required for improvement.
You can launch it whenever you want. Or maybe just wait until the week of final exam end, which is around early of May.
At that time I am certain we can all have more time to launch both the Pokemon and Battle of Future together.
But its all up to you and fyrus if you guys wanna launch it early than that :)
Maybe do rewards each evolution, upscaling with the best at the end. It's team based, so we gotta make sure teams are somewhat fair (no fun if it's just 1 team stomping).
Once they reach the final evolution they need to get 2 kills to win. I'm hoping we end up with a 3 way final evolution fight, dieing in this game isn't all that bad. Getting full health/pp makes it easy to get revenge.
Trying to keep it simple, so I think just evolutions should give points. The amount is all up to you, I can't really say how many points.
I do think however at the end we can do MVP/participation awards and all that jazz. For the people who contributed the most.
In this game, members can acquire points that can be used to gain rewards including prized cards and layout design services. Member can also use POINTS to buy items in POKEMON SHOP. Here are some rules to acquire points:
1. A team will get 10 points for the first evolution of the Pokemon
2. A team will get 30 points for the second/final evolution of the pokemon
3. A team will get 50 points for winning the game by killing 2 team
In addition to points. The winning team will be awarded with Pokemon Badge :)
You can use points to:
1. Buy items in RP Shop : Pokemon Shop, Battle future Shop, Anime tactic shop to assist them in battle
2. You can use points to buy Bonus cards. For example, see Official Member Cards thread http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1440131
Notice that most of the cards there from require points to buy
3. You can use points to buy design service. A layout make will make you Profile Layout if you ask them to do so.
This will require around 60 to 100 points. I will make the thread for this maybe today :D
I think those rewards will work, maybe we can give some special stuff to MVP's later on (might as well get the game up and running first)
I think the prices for items should go something like this:
Potion: cost 15 Heals 25 HP
Super Potion: cost 25 heals 50 HP
Hyper Potion: Cost 35 Heals 75 HP
