"The 35th Test Platoon of Antimagic Academy is one of the squads enrolled at an academy specializing in raising the witch hunters, whose job is to find and neutralize any magical threats!
Unfortunately, they're a group of failures nicknamed the "Small Fry Platoon", a platoon formed from a bunch of self-centered people who have personality problems and can't cooperate.
Will they manage to overcome their weaknesses and shine as the strongest platoon?"
Remember when I said that in a harem the girls mean more than the story.
Well that is when we at least have an average story. I can deal with an average story as your interests in watching the anime is for pervert reasons. But when you give a bad story like in Taimadou that does have some weight.
The main concept the story in regard to girls is that each one of them has their own burden and the harem connection to them all is that Kusanagi will share the burden with them. That part of the story is fine.
Mari is our witch turnacoat. She is also the flat-chested girl. Probably the best out of all of them.
Ootori who wants to kill all witches out of revenge. It was her story that was a clear sign that we were going to have major pacing issues. Episode 2 and i believe 4 were done directly to press the fast forward button for the story to get back to the ecchi parts of the show. They were "plot episodes".
Suginami is our scientist who basically morphed her body into being an elf? I don't know. Once again...just pressing the fast forward button to give us "plot episode"
To be honest...I don't even remember Saionji story well. I think it was a family issue with an arranged marriage.
I'd say the girls are still sufficient but Gakusen has the edge on them. It's their backgrounds that are all rushed.
On the bright side all the girls did get equal screen time for their character. I will commend the show for that.
Then out of nowhere Kusanagi has a demon sister and now he has his own burden that the girls are suppose to carry him now. On paper it should work but when you present it the way they did with"blantant plot episodes" to just get the story over with. It's frustrating.
I'm very indifferent on this show and when I'm indifferent that usually constitutes a 6/10. I can't call any aspect of the show good. Even the opening and ending are just above average. I think the nail in coffin for an average rating is that like Sakuako-san. I'm not really interested in a second season.
What separates Taimadou from being a 5/10 like Sakuako-san is I wasn't annoyed at the characters themselves just the story's pace around them. Even when the story was being rushed. I wasn't disinterested like with some of the cases in Sakuako-san. I never skipped minutes.
