I was looking at the Corpse Party Wikipedia page, and I saw it had an anime, so I thought, "Fuck yeah!" and watched it. No regrets.

I guess I watched naruto first as a kid and stuck to that until about a year ago when my friend told me to watch attack on titan. Now I'm in a void I can't get out of.

Basically I had been playing visual novels (Little Busters) and I liked it so I wanted to find more stuff from it. Stumbled into the anime and MAL and the rest is history.

Two of my friends would take hours to text me back due to watching anime. One night i was bored nothing to watch on YouTube. So i decided to see whats so 'special' about anime. I downloaded Crunchyroll and came across 'Say I Love You' and watched it. Ever since then i've started watching anime lol

I wanted to learn a very difficult language just for "fun" and I tried with japanese. I found anime and manga when I investigated the japanese culture, and one day I bought the first volume of Death Note. The rest is history ;D

I've watched anime since I was young, but my first actual conscious effort to actually get to know the medium better was when a chat buddy insisted I gave a certain show, called Ojamajo Doremi, a try.

After some hesitation (I was under the impression that anime was all kid's stuff back then), I caved and started watching it. I spent the next day watching all 51 episodes of the first season, and my anime fandom was born.

Watched anime on TV when I was a kid (not knowing they were anime). Started with Naruto and Bleach. Moved onto Deathnote, Inuyasha, and Gundam Seed.

About a year ago I head about attack on Titan and Sword Art Online. Heard they were a must watch so I tried them out. Been watching anime ever since ^^.

One of my friends invited us over to his house, we watched Ip Man followed by Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Up until that point, my anime experience had been Pokemon and a bunch of shonen and mecha shows on TV, and I didn't really even think of it as anime at that point, just more bad cartoons. FMA blew my mind, I didn't know animation even existed that wasn't either for 12 year olds or family guy.

I found out taht Anne of Green Gables that was showed on TV was a Japanimation
and I questioned myself, how can a beautiful series be considered as included in a medium filled with edgys, sex, boobs, immature teens, angst, and Atheist tendencies?
Twitter and it's consequences had been a disaster for the human race

When I was in elementary school Toonami on Saturday nights, I remember watching a lot of Inu Yasha, and eventually I'd watch some Bleach in later years. Also watched Spirited Away on TV and rented KiKi's Delivery service form the library when I was in elementary school. Got into Pokemon as well and later got really involved with anime when I started High School.

How?

It has the most obvious anime tropes possible, I don't see how anyone with reasonable pop culture knowledge wouldn't notice them. Something like Pokemon or Ultimate Muscle had many cultural changes added to them so those are more fair to think they weren't anime.

My first anime was Sonic the Hedgehog (OVA)

I had watched some anime (Prince of tennis, cardcaptor sakura) as a kid. Summer of 2014, was when I really started, after a camp friend made me watch my "first" show - Noucome.
