| I've asked this before on Fuwanovel, but it was hard as hell as most VNs aren't translated. I need to play a new VN after I'm done with Heaven's Feel and I can't seem to find anything that interests me. I even thought of quitting VNs since most of them are porn games or eroges. I played: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni + Kai Rose Guns Days Umineko No Naku Koro Ni + Chiru Steins;Gate Chaos;Head (had to drop it cuz the translation had a glitch that corrupted my save file). Fate/Stay Night The only Otome game I wanted to try was Diabolik Lovers, but it has not ever been translated and I might dislike it. It's okay if there are rape scenes, I just don't want heavy focus on romance or |

| How about Symphonic Rain? It appears to be about romance and music on the surface but... well, you'll know once you've read it. No, it's not something that'll gradually implement horror themes like But the revelations are also just as great, if not better. |

Well you can go with Danganronpa... but considering the demographic for VN's is usually either Romance or Eroge you are going to have a tough time as most have either or in it... If you don't MIND having them in it...but don't want the focus to be it entirely then try out these ones...since my interest is heavily into action/fantasy stuff but most have eroge/romance in it... Daibanchou -Big Bang Age- Sengoku Rance (both above contain plenty of Eroge...the later contains plenty of rape with the MC usually the one doing it. But the game mechanics for both are great. You can mostly get by with the former having a very LITTLE amount of Eroge if you know what you are doing and skip the mandetory scenes [which you do to give you bonus...sounds shitty but...yeah it's fine]) i actually got by playing both in class...that's how little Eroge there is compared to gameplay/story time and the former is one of my favourite. Rance it just funny...most of the time. Utawarerumono <--- It has romance as a focus but i enjoyed the story and the mechanics...it's a weaker game compared to all i will list but still i enjoyed it...and it's better than Tears to Tiara... Eien no Aselia <--- You must choose a girl but overall still a great game with fun game mechanics and the story doesn't entirely focus on romance until way later. One of my top 5 VN's of all time and NO EROGE in it...so good for this one ;D Castle Fantasia 2 <--- what more to say other than i love the protag...it has 2 MAJOR branching story lines, and again it has eroge and romance but the eroge is few and far between...and the romance is there....but again little compared to the story. You can try out Tsukihime if you liked Fate...i personally didn't enjoy it but others did. i honestly can't remember what else i'm sure there is more i'm just shitty with memory. But considering most VN's have some semblance of romance and most have Eroge scenes ...if you don't have eroge scenes which is like "quick here is some romance...then sex...moving on" then you will have usually a romance focused story. my top games to recommend though are definitely Eien no Aselia daibanchou - big bang age - Castle Fantasia 2 (though far less than the other two). and G-Senjou no Maou (more so than castle fantasia 2) |
