Does anyone else find this series frustrating?

I really liked the first 12 episodes of this series. Things were, understandably, still vague, but I could make do with it. I really liked (not loved - actually, scratch that - I love Izaya unconditionally) a lot of the characters. But the second half....ups and downs. When it starts to focus on the high schoolers it just becomes drivel. The only drama arises from the fact that nobody trusts anyone else enough to have a semi-mature conversation --- and then the characters begin doing things where the only motivation is "I have to do this". BUT WHY? I'm trying to be spoiler free, but I was hoping other people might have had a similar frustration with some of the characters.

It's been frustrating since the 1st episode. I literally have no idea what is going on.

I am at episode 10 or 11 right now where Celty

and I am so lost. I KINDA get what is happening and I kind of don't tbh.

I love Izaya though and I like Ryu a lot (they look like they could be brothers tbh) and I like the strong guy. So I really watch it for them...oh and I love psycho seji.

This anime is so bad and confusing to me yet I cant help but want to watch it more lmao

^just because you're not capable of following it doesn't mean it's bad. Tbh it really isn't that hard to follow :/

Couldn't make it beyond episode 5 I guess. Watched it a year ago.

I usually love mindfuck stuff. But there is so much wrong with this show. Boring to say the least.

Its frustrating because im starting to question everything thats happening but when it is explained i just.... WOW AMAZING PLOT AWESOME HOW CAN YOU MAKE THINGS LIKE THIS.... yeah a little exaggerated but thats what i really feel when i discovered the truth

It sucks I dont know why I am even watching it at this point. I'm just glad I only have 4 episodes left, not going to touch the other seasons for sure

It was decent in the first half. Nothing great, there was little sense of progression but Shinra and Celty were good characters and the plot was intriguing. Man, the second half was a considerable drop in quality. Focus was shifted to the three boring high schoolers and progression even took a worse hit.

yeah first 5 eps is just introducing the characters and setting. The real good part comes after that. I couldn't get past eps 5 too when i first watched it yeeeeears ago. But when i finally did i binged all four seasons and realized HOW BADASS EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IS! Seriously,

Damnit I tried, took me forever to watch the first 14 episodes which had mainly cheesy lows but one or 2 highs before I put it on hold.

Got half way through episode 15, NFW can I watch something so damn boring.
