| I really like Shinji's character. He's by far the most human character of the cast. Everyone keeps telling him to "do this" or "don't do that" without bothering to explain why... If they simply took 1 minute out of their lives to explain the situation to Shinji none of this would have happened. "Don't pull the spears because that will trigger the 4th impact." |

| One of my favorite characters in all anime/manga. A pity people think depressed teens with serious issues should have fun pilloting a war machine that brings physical and mental pain. In the end, some guys can't get out of the anime <=> escapism bubble and cannot understand character's point of view because "XD HEHEH I want to fug Asuka" |

| I actually feel bad for him, not only his friends treat him like scrap, his new best friend is dead and he almost caused a Fourth Impact, and also he is guilty of everything that have happend to earth, and his Father just wanted to use him as a tool, and he also couldn't "save" Rei, so yeah, he's in a complete breakdown, a walking dead, poor boy. I don't think Shikinami nor Rei Q can do anything. |

| I think at this point, he's mentally fucked. He wakes up to a bunch of angry people, mad at him for something he doesn't know he did, Misato is mad at him, even though she ENCOURAGED him, with neither knowing the consequences. "Here's an explosive collar, if you get to emotional, it'll detonate and kill you" That'll definitely keep anyone calm, now wouldn't it. Then finds out he caused 3rd impact, he didn't save Rei, Rei is a clone of his mom, breaks down, gets told that the spears could fix everything, gets fixated on spears, get told not of pull spears (doesn't listen/understand due to mental state) caused 4th impact, loses BFF, and is now in the same position as the beginning of EOE. |

| I never hated Shiji but God forgive me, I really wanted to smack him in 3.0. Kaworu tells you "yo dude it feels wrong, don't do anything please" and he STILL goes and does the exact opposite of what being asked of him. Asuka screams "dude wtf it's dangerous!" and Shinji just ignores her. Even if you don't take all of this into account, how can you still trust your father after everything he has done? Gendo wants you to pilot Marc 13? It means YOU DON'T PILOT IT (until they force you). Gendo is sneaky sob. |
