| Canaan is based on one of the scenarios written for the visual novel 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de. Sadly this VN has never been officially or even through fan means, translated into English. This makes me wonder, how close of an adaptation is the anime to the visual novel? What was kept in? Left out? Altered? Not sure if I'll get an answer here but I think it's something interesting and worth discussing. |
| From what I understood way back when was that Canaan was either a prequel or sequel to the game, or a sort of loosely based on type of work, it was by no means an actual adaptation of said game. This is coming from memory though and its been a while. Feels like this aired in 2006 to me even though it was '09. |
