| Before I discovered yuri, I was always a fan of romance, just for the depth of emotion that romance provides as compared to other genres. The reason that I enjoy yuri is because I feel that it has more to offer in emotions between the characters than typical you're-the-lead-female-and-I'm-the-lead-male-so-we-must-fall-in-love romance. Ever since I've come to love yuri, I've developed a preference for yuri couples over hetero couples. This applies to real life as well, to an extent. Which is a bit problematic for me, seeing as I happen to be a heterosexual male. I think I'd rather be a girl, but that's impossible, so I'm just stuck being a male, eternally unable to live the yuri as I so long to. (lol) |

| I think it's a nice idea to see the amount of boys and girls in a yuri club, but please don't stick gender to a binary choice. I know that one can't list every gender and I don't think it's possible, just add at least a 'Non-binary' option for people who consider themselves neither as a male or as a female. |

Girls are genetically more experimental, and while straight guys very rarely touch shounen ai, straight girls often find Yuri cute. | male/nonbinary here :) Even though I'm more into yaoi/shounen ai, probably cause I'm gay, Yuri/shoujo ai is less problematic. So while yaoi is most of the time written by and for straight women, its characters are very stereotypical and fetishize gay guys. In yuri that's much more rare (in shoujo ai/sfw at least). |
