So, which area of Tennessee are you from? You don't have to give a specific city if you don't want to, but it's good to know where our numbers are, in case we ever need to plan an Otaku attack on the unsuspecting masses... or something like that.

The Silence of the Chocobos ...because there's just something inherently alarming about a huge black man screaming at you in Japanese.

Well now that's rather neat. I was suprised to find someone from the same state, let alone the same city.

Awesome, now I know someone shares my pain of only having Best Buy and The Video Trading Company (used store) to hunt for anime.

Oh and the rare find at Mr. Ks.

HAHAHA! Yes! Best Buy used to be so awesome when they first opened (I bought soooo much), but now they rarely have anything I want, so I buy online instead. I've never visited the The Video Trading Company (though I might now that you mentioned it). And Ahhhh~ Mr. K's, I've been visiting them for years. But the last few visits have been disappointing (except for some random Japanese tankobons I found), so I haven't been in a while.

I usually cast my net a bit wider and visit FYE in both Bristol and Kingsport when I can for their used DVDs. Their new DVDs are sky high, but they sometimes have some used hidden gems. And sometimes the Bristol's Best Buy if I'm in the area.

I'm in Milligan so a trip to Bristol is less appealing to me than to you, being in Piney and all. Granted I do go to the flea market over that way about every week, however my friend has a strong distaste for anime so he's never thrilled about the suggestion of riding on over so I can do some searching.

I actually got lucky and managed to find the first 3 volumes of Witchblade at Mr. Ks for 3 bucks a piece over the weekend. Was in there to buy up the Claymore mangas they had the weekend before, but they were all gone. =(

I can't blame you there. I rarely get to the flea market, though the last time I went I did like a random volume of Cardcaptor Sakura, which I bought. Never had any luck otherwise. =/

Oh, well that was lucky and a very good price to boot! I might have to stop by when I'm in JC again. =D

Hey, mind if I friend you?

It could be entertaining, but the convention here is . . . well, lacking.

I'm from Clarksville, it's a military town right next to Fort Campbell that also falls into Kentucky. It's about 70 or so miles north-west of Nashville.

It's not much of a place to write home about, despite how many people live here. The only thing a majority of the folks here care about is getting drunk, but that leads into a rant for another day. :3

I'm a Kingsport girl myself, so its good to know there are more people around here.
But if you're looking for a good place to get anime and manga (at least a pretty good place) you should go to Mr. K's in JC. They have some good stuff at great prices! I love going there for stuff mostly because its so much cheaper than Barnes and Noble.

I'm at Mr. Ks in JC at least once a week. Apparently there is some guy who keeps bringing in just the first 2 or 3 volumes of different anime series instead of the complete set. Guys been doing this every week or two for the last 3 or 4 months. One of the dudes that work there was telling me how much it baffled him. Lucky me it's been stuff I've wanted. =D

Yay! Another nearby fan! *waves*

Another Mr. K's shopper I see~ they can be a good place to find stuff sometimes. I've not had much luck on the anime side lately (last time I went, they had nothing and even had someone else point it out too), but I walked out with 9 volumes of manga for $27. I really need to go back. =)

I wish I could get in on some of that action. But every time I go they have nothing. I wonder why? *winkwink* Just joking... with anime and good prices, I say grab'em and growl. =)

Here's another Johnson City native for your group. Unfortunately, I may be moving to Kentucky (about an hour north of Knoxville), but I'll probably go back to JC by Autumn to go to ETSU.

RM: I met a gal once at MTAC that hailed from Knoxville...I think it was knoxville, it might've been some other place. Don't remember. A hyper girl at that. Wasn't you though. If that's you're picture, you look a bit more(physically) mature than she was.

Konami: Never expected to run into somebody else from Clarksville. Kind of a boring city, eh? :3

Now this gal you met was probably one of the hyper girls in my Anime Club last year that I took to MTAC. Or one of the hyper girls in my friends Anime Club that she took to MTAC (but hers had mostly boys).

Move to Nashville. It's the center of the state. People can get here from anywhere in the state in less than three hours. Much easier to collect followers that way.
Love and peace.

Which is why MTAC is the central event for all anime fans. :3

In a way, Clarksville is similar to Nashville since there's a lot of small towns surrounding it, and they all rely on Clarksville for anything past wal-mart.

But that's really about the only thing my city has in common with our capital.

Maryville to Knoxville is a fairly short drive. 15-20 minutes tops. Not that there are a ton more places in Knox from what I know, but it's gotta be better than Maryville.

Managed to find a sealed copy of Appleseed Ex Machina collectors edition at the flea market today for $5. I was getting looks from the people around me I was so excited. Been trying to find a copy around here for a while and nobody ever had it.
