I've been snooping around other discussion threads about the english translation of Tegami Bachi. The Tegami 手紙 is japanese for letter. But bachi... bachi can mean bee/wasp and can also mean a word similar to karma or judgement.

Though ! Most people just go the the translation of "Letter Bee" Which I think makes sense. The author even played around with it, the headquarters being their "hive" Letter bees are also pretty busy- busy as a bee perhaps?

Also, the idea that they are not wasps or hornets, but bees seems interesting to me. Wasps don't die after stinging, but bees do. When a letter bee shoots a fragment of their heart to defeat gaichuu, they lose it and their life span shortens.
