Well they intended for SEED to be the first Gundam of the new generation, which is also why SEED was the first non-UC series with "Mobile Suit Gundam" in the name. |

@PandaPuffWhat Fukuda did with seed was to rip off UC timeline ideas, then fuck it up and add up his own stuff. original is by miles better and different. :) |

Actually Seed does take a good chunk of its idea's from the original MSG. The progression of the story develops very similar between the two, Coordinators are basically the CE's Newtypes, the ship they flew in throughout the series is heavily based off the WhiteBase, it's basically like a retake on the original series in an attempt to attract new fans. I thought the desert arc above all had some blatant influences taken from the original.Seed still has it's own stuff and I think it's a good series, though I prefer the original MSG overall compared to it. |

@PandaPuff Watch the original UC timeline (Gundam(original or movie series. better both.) > Gundam Zeta(Original or movie. better both) >(you can skip Gundam ZZ if you want) > Char's Counterattack> F91 > Victory > Turn A(arguably its end for UC, CE, W, X and G) along with its spin-offs The 08th MS Team(along with 0080 and 0083), Turn A - is a must. nearly all the gundam universes (theoretically) end with this(at least original, CE, Wing, X and G). Its also one of the more "happier" series Tomino has ever directed, which perfectly contrasts with Victory. Gundam SEED : Stargazer - different directors, different quality. More story than in both GSD and GS summed up. Gundam 00 - the newest take on "gundam". New stuff, new era, new meaning, everything new, but at the same time closest to the UC ideas. Now on GS: Now, Cordinator stuff was certainly not good. It has let Kira pilot a big fucking mecha without any knowledge, survive stuff and in gsd And LAcus - well, my point still stands. As Kira conveniently got his gundam trashed in his clash with his girl-scout friend who wears red yet is no Char, Lacus conveniently offers Freedom to him and even more of beam-spamming(aimbot>kaboom>1524542 grunts disappear > repeat) begins. I know I know. GSD is known to be aweful but for the sake of watching it imma watch it.I wish I knew what the other Gundam series brought but If you haven't noticed...I've only seen 3?(Wing, X, Seed) When I do watch more I'll remember what you said. Lmao you're right on the last part there. I was asking myself that too when I saw it. They do say Kira is a coorindinator and survives most things a normal person can't but all in all I liked how the whole series played out. Btw Lacus didn't have the Freedom hidden for specifically for Kira. She just happened to think a plan and decided to give it to him to fulfill it. Anyways, you've seen a lot of Gundam. What do you think are the ones worth watching? |

First 30 episodes or so = rehash of the plot from UC gundam. I mean COMPLETE rehash, along with the characters and all. Just take out all the coolness and add two friends who are fighting each other, but do not want to fight each other because one of them(in the girl-scout miniskirt) gave a mechanical birdie to the other when they were young...baaaw :/later episodes - a better. Except that Kira goes from somehow morally conflicted character into the ultimate god who uses aim-bot to pwn all with mobile suit which can spam both melee and ranged attacks. Then we go to the ending where "badies" bring out the WMD which is also BMFG and the goodies pwn them, without any supposed hardships. As always, one-two suits pwn others. Don't let me go on about GSD...now that was crap. What I loved about other gundams were that they brought something new to franchise and emphasized the fact that BMFG-type mobile suits are not key to victory - the pilot is. Now what GS and GSD emphasized was that a guy with aimboy and emo-stance can jump up into the big fucking mecha and own half-the world without any sorts of tries. Also I loved the fact that its a war and its shown, as people die, meaninglessly or not. Main or not. What we got in GS and GSD was meaningless faction hopping, 99% ripped off UC plot and no meaningful deaths(Ok Nikol was one...but others? its bassically bad guys getting the short end of stick and good guys UTTERLY and COMPLETELLY wining everything). Another thing I hated about was plot shield - only grunts and supporting cast died somehow. Mains - no no no. Here Kira survives a MS exploding in space(not to matter flaoting there with nearly broken helmet). NO problem - here a pink girl had a big mother fucking mecha hidden for you all along. |

Sci-Fi channel has bought the rights to show Gundam 00 on their channel. Also Sci-Fi channel is gonna sell Gundam goodies here in the US again. So look forward to seeing Gundam toys back on the shelves. |

Lol yeah I guess such a long series like Gundam has to have some bad iterations. I will probably never watch G-Gundam unless I am super bored and ha e nothing else to watch. I feel like I am getting further and further behind though. I have yet to watch Zeta, Double Zeta, After War X, Turn A, 00, Seed, Victory, Wing, Seed Destiny, and Igloo. |
