Black People in Anime

Information
Do you sometimes watch an anime and notice a different kind of character? The kind of character that has a darker shade of skin, sounds like he's voiced by an old man, larger than average lips, doesn't have hair color like the rainbow, and is more often than not, a background character? Well we are here to appreciate those characters. Quite frankly, the average anime character looks like some alien from outer space, but amazingly enough, Japanese animators always get black people right.

I love this! I love seeing our people, black people represented in anime and in media as titular charecters as this is rarley seen. I feel proud as a black person that this club is a thing. Japan and anime really needs to be more diverse and we need more representation of not just black people but of all people of all different races. It makes the world better to be more open minded to different cultures, race and people. Will def check this ckub out frequently. :)

@VioLink
Are you saying a black person can't wear a turban?

@night-walker
Yes it hasn't. We should fix that, and fill out that character relations list.

I've notice this club hasn't been every active for a while and I have to say I'm a little sad and disappointed.

Judging by his turban I don't think Mr.PoPo is African American.

Is this club a joke ? Why posting a picture of a controversial blackface character as avatar ?

Ochimusha | Oct 13, 2012 3:40 PM
oh yeah and Gantz did have quite a few cool black people, the guy on the Osaka team, and the three Americans in the Jurassic mission. Still missing a ton of relations though

Have you ever wondered what early Berserk would be like if the Black Swordsman were actually black, the demons he fought were members of the KKK, and the whole thing was set in the American southwest of 1880? Well, Blaster Knuckle is the answer you your questions.

Looks like I've ought to read Blaster knuckle now... love dat description.
