XBMC Users Guide

Information
For people who use, want to use, and spread the use of XBMC, the best media center around. Both .mkv and subtitles work fresh out of the box with it. Need help? Guide below. TO GET STARTED WITH XBMC 1. Download XBMC 2. Download this file http://www.mediafire.com/file/22g39nh35n25826/advancedsettings.xml and place it in Program Files>XBMC>Userdata 3. Now you need to organize your files: In your videos folder, make two seperate folders labeled TV Shows and Movies. The format for Movies should look like this: Movies> Movietitle > Movietitle.mkv/avi/etc. ex: Movies > 5 Centimeters per Second > 5 Centimeters per Second.mkv For TV shows, it should be TV Shows > TVshowtitle > TVshowtitle (seasonnumber)(episodenumber) Ex: TV Shows > Cowboy Bebop > Cowboy Bebop 101.avi, Cowboy Bebop 102.avi etc. I highly recommend you check TheTVDB.com for the show information if things don't work, since that is the scraper that XBMC gets all its info from. For example, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is listed as Puella Magi Madoka Magica in TVDB, and To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is listed as A Certain Scientific Railgun, so you'll have to make changes accordingly. And for shows with with characters that Windows won't let you insert (!, :, etc.) just exclude them. So Mayo Chiki! would be Mayo Chiki, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic would be My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Another reason to check TVDB would be for specials, such as OVAs. They are commonly listed in TVDB as "Specials" and Specials are read as Season 0 in XBMC. So Clannad Kyou Chapter would be Clannad 003, since it's listed as the third Special in TVDB. 4. To make things look really good in XBMC, I recommend getting the Aeon Nox skin (System > Appearance > Skin > Choose Skin > Get more skins in XBMC) and choosing Library view while in Videos (hit the right arrow key to bring up the menu) If nothing is in Library mode, push C and choose Update Library...within a few moments XBMC should scrape all the info for your media (assuming you followed step 3 correctly)! Enjoy!

For people how want simple and better XBMC with low end hardware, try OpenELEC.
I use it with my Laptop Asus X201E with Intel Celeron 847 (@1,1Ghz) , it can save cpu resource up to 50% compare to XBMC running in Windows 8 or Kubuntu Linux.
So if you have problem with Hi10p because your CPu is Low End, try to use OpenELEC and you will much happier with it.
I use it Since OpenELEC 3.0.0 , before i use Mplayer2 in Kubuntu and MPC-HC with Windows 8, but sometimes i have out of sync error because my CPU is weak, most of it in karaoke.
