I mean, my ancestors are from the place then called "hattusa", so this manga took my interest. I must congratulate Chie Shinohara on making a nearly perfect representation of the setting lol.

I've heard about Kanata Kara, but haven't tried it yet, so I'll look into it. I've watched and completed Inuyasha 2 years ago and read a little bit of Fushigi Yuugi, but I didn't think they were as good as Red River. Thank you very much for your suggestions, though!

Have you read Kanata Kara (From Far Away)? It's very similar to Red River, with less nakedness. ;) It's another really good manga, I enjoyed it. Great characters. Noriko (main character) is similar to Yuri in that she takes any situation she's in and makes the best of it and becomes a stronger person for it. (With of course, the occasional rescue from the handsome love interest.)

There is Fushigi Yuugi as well. Similar story,(girl is transported to another time/place, meets mysterious boy who she is drawn to, finds out she has a big reason for being there, blah blah blah.) but Red River is better, honestly. Stronger characters, better story, less angst. Has some good humor in it though. I think I just had issued with the main character... She spends too much time yelling for help. (It's like how Inuyasha and Kagome spend half the time yelling each other's names, but much worse.) STILL it's a good story. I just like Red River better. (Inuyasha is a great manga/anime too, if you haven't seen that yet.)
