J.C. Staff

Update: (Tues. 6/15) Handling Logistical stuff for future events... such a bore. Along with getting more stuff ready to roll out. Note: Please check the Top 5 and Club Poll/Suggestions.

For fans of JC Staff productions. Splitting time between invites, layout, and minor details. Add really good pics of JC Staff shows please, help in this area is greatly appreciated. I do not excel in graphics. But if you can't find a J.C. Staff anime on the web I can help you out 90% of the time (I can't guarantee anything released before 2000).

prefer Index over Railgun

Tyranid5 | Sep 1, 2013 2:46 PM
I don't really think it's a preference. More that if a viewer enjoys the franchise but likes SoL then they lean towards Railgun. The ones that lean towards Index tend to be those who don't watch/like/aren't suited for SoL which Railgun throws in a good amount of just plain SoL eps.

To me it makes the pacing of the series a lot better and helps the flow. Others just want action which is what index gives sacrificing some aspects because it tends to jump around a bit randomly. My problem with the franchise is the magic side seems a lot more random and sporadic, while the science side is much more organized and reasonable.

I've talked to people that enjoy railgun and how it focuses on the science side and academy city rather than traveling all over the world with magic users, but they just don't like the slice of life eps that end up adding up to probably over half of season 1, Season 2 will probably be a bit under half only because of Sisters.

tl;dr - both are solid, just 2 different takes on the same universe. Preference more reflects a watchers general preferences and not how good/bad each are.

Though Index 1 is a bit of an info overload since all the basics for the franchise get explained then. When I rec railgun even i tell people to watch Index 1 first so that they don't get lost.

@ Tyranid5 and jimbo_extreme I noticed some fans prefer one over the other while others enjoy both. I already like Misaka (and her "sisters") so yeah, I already planned to watch Railgun S1 after Index S1. I love Index and the cute loli teacher. Every time they speak I get the cuteness overload.

Definitely!!! watch railgun asap after season 1 even.

Index is too all over the place. Railgun focuses on the science and the city and misaka mikoto. What more can you want lol.

Railgun > Index, just saying =p

I forgot I am in this club LOL. I finally watched A Certain Magical Index S1 and enjoyed it. I'm also enjoying Toradora. Man, JC Staff sure know how to entertain me.

Angel Beats was actually PA Works lol.

Check out Nodame Cantabile. It is a great series by JC Staff too.

Didn't know there was a J.C. staff club. But I love some of the work that has been produced by them that I've watched-Ano Natsu de Matteru, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, Angel Beats, and most of all, Toradora!
I can't wait to see what's going to be offered this coming season! :3
