Information

Go Nagai was born in Wajima City on September 6, 1945. He was inspired to become a mangaka (manga author) after his brother gave him a copy of Osamu Tezuka's Lost World. Since that day, Go Nagai pursued his dream of becoming a mangaka, writing many all-time classics such as Devilman, Getter Robo, Mazinger Z and Cutey Honey.

New TV Anime "Cutie Honey Universe" by Production Reed Slated for 2018

An official website has opened for a new anime adaptation of manga author Go Nagai's Cutie Honey manga on Friday. Titled Cutie Honey Universe, the anime is the third project to celebrate the 50th's anniversary of Nagai's works, following the Mazinger Z: Infinity film and Devilman: Crybaby anime series. The new anime will debut in 2018.

Go Nagai released his comment on the new anime as below:

"I am really happy that Cutie Honey is getting a new anime following my other representative works, Devil Man and Mazinger Z. I think it will conclude the anime project for the 50th anniversary of my works. My heroine, who started her activities in a weekly manga magazine and a TV anime at the same time, has been active in anime, manga, and films over and over again. Since the concept for this new anime is 'Kakko Kawaii Onnanoko (Cool and Cute Girl),' I am already looking forward to seeing how Honey Kisaragi will revive in modern times and show what kind of her 'cool and cute' action."

FYI for fans in the states, Seven Sea manga is releasing a ton of Go Nagai related manga this upcoming year.

Go Nagai and the staff of the new Mazinger Z anime film revealed at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France on Wednesday that Ichiro Mizuki is returning to the franchise to perform the film's opening theme song. Mizuki has performed theme songs for the Mazinger Z TV anime series, Mazinger Z tai Ankoku Daishōgun, Mazinger Z Vs. Devilman, Mazinger Z Vs. Dr. Hell, Great Mazinger, and Great Mazinger tai Getter Robo G - Kuuchuu Dai-Gekitotsu.

Is Devilman vs. Hades the one with Mazinger Z in it? Also holy shit this is amazing. Did the sales of Grimoire vol 1 seriously do that well, or is someone at Seven Sea just a huge devilman fan?
Personally I'm interested in what version they will release. The most recent version is the Revised Edition, so this seems the most logical. The Revised Edition is also the most complete of the three versions (Original, Deluxe, and Revised) as it is only missing 2 chapters of Shin Devilman. However, they could also be releasing the original, either because it's the original or because they don't have the licencing to the Shin Chapters. Whichever version it is, I'm totally buying it.
