She is a white rabbit-like creature, wearing a black jester's hat with a pink skull on the front and a black "devil" tail in the place of a normal rabbit's tail. Kuromi's appearance also looks similar to those of cartoon characters from the 1920s and 1930s. Goods featuring Kuromi first appeared in Japan in July 2005. She has three image songs all sung by her seiyū, Junko Takeuchi. Kuromi sometimes wears fuchsia pink skull cherries on her right ear. Kuromi was born on October 31, 2005. Although Kuromi has a rowdy free spirit, she is actually quite girly on the inside and has a soft spot for cute guys! Kuromi enjoys keeping a diary and reading romance novels. Her favorite color is black and her favorite food is pickled onions. <!--link--><a href="http://myanimelist.net/character/10441/Kuromi">From Mal</a> Kuromi is My Melody's rival. She is a rabbit and wears a black joker's hat with a pink skull at the center of her forehead. Kuromi needs to collect 100 Black Notes in order to resurrect Spirit of Dark Power, believing it would provide her some benefits. She is unaware of the consequences of achieving them. She is an escaped prisoner from Mari Land. It was later revealed that Kuromi commited crimes like stealing bread in order to feed Baku's poor family. When Kuromi was on trial, Baku tried to convince the judge that he too was responsible. But Kuromi claimed that Baku was lying, so that her friend wouldn't share a similar fate. What started her grudge towards Melody was an incident where Melody unknowingly tore a page from her journal to wipe the cold nose of a sheep. Since then, Kuromi has been writing down all the mishaps and unfavorable moments that Melody has caused her (accidently). Kuromi is the leader of a gang known as "Kuromi's 5." Other members include a purple cat named Nyanmi, a pale orange dog named Wanmi, a white fox named Konmi, and a grey and white rat named Chumi.
