Ahh...sweet club! Though I'm not a professional writer or anything close to even to remotely being one, I'm actually working on a fantasy novel myself, with inspiration from many different anime shows. Hopefully, one day in the far future probably, I could get it published. But I always found it fun (and a stress reliever) to write stories.

At least you didn't pay money to see Eragon. It's really bad when the CGI dragon acts better than the real human beings ...

First of all , it's called the golden compass !!!??? instead of Northern Lights.Lyra and Mrs. Coulter look kind of ok but i hate Daniel Craig, he looks like he's sucking a lemon all the time.
I would like the movie to be just like the book, but the first thing they say in the trailer is "from the same people that brought you the Lord of the Rings". Well, thanks for telling me that... All my hopes are gone now.
The other day I watched The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett and I was quite surprised, it's good! It's just like the book, nothing has been changed, deleted or simplified. Discworld looks great! I think that's because it's not a hollywood movie and terry pratchett was all the time in the set. -.-
I'll stop the moaning now and go to uni. :)

Looks like I need to reread the book before I watch it.I don't know what I was expecting but from that trailer I'm not as excited about the film as I was when I first found out it was being made. To be honest the trailer wasn't even that good as far as trailers go.

12 Kingdoms is definitely something I'll be checking out in the future, it looks long but fun. Also have any of you guys read any Ursula LeGuin (sp?) books? My brother is the biggest fantasy reader I know and apart from WoT, LeGuin's books are his favourites. I'm thinking of picking them up once I get through (or sick) of Wheel of Time since they seem to have made such a big impact on his collection.

Ahh thanks for the recommendations. I'm currently reading The Great Hunt, 2 of The Wheel of Time, this is by far my favourite series. So thrilling and every little scene is so well thought out. I am yet to experience the feelings I have reading these novels when I'm watching anime, which is a disappointment but also something to look forward to when I find the right one. Hopefully the ones you guys have mentioned match up to the task!
