7th Day in Japan - Tuesday 14, 2009

I woke up, had my shower and wore my jean capri's with my Seirei shirt. For breakfast we had pancakes (ホットケーキ) and corn. I went through chapel time in Yuki's homeroom and then headed to the entrance where the rest of the group was. We then loaded on the bus and went to the Hamamatsu Board of Education. We received a candy that had eel sprinkled on it (that you couldn't really taste) and a Hamamatsu pin. The main guy explained to us about the school system and we asked tons of questions. After the meeting we had a tour of the down town where we split up going around a mall, I ended up buying the rest of my souvenirs except for dad and Joe (my sister's husband).

Which I've decided to wait till Kyoto to get. In the mall I came into the bookstore/cafe and took pictures of how big the BL (yaoi) section was... but, I refrained from buying anything except for food because today was a 'pay for your own lunch day'. I had a hot dog with cheese and a scone for about 400 yen ($4). After shopping we had to ride the public bus home which I dozed in and out of sleep on because the long walk around the mall tired me out.

After we returned to school it was a little bit before 4 and Yuki came to get me around 4:30 p.m. and at about 5:00 p.m. her mom picked us up. After we returned home I started going through my merchandise and trying to fit it around in my bad and cleaned up around my bed so my bags weren't everywhere. Now we are about to watch Hana-Kimi the live action movie, so I'll write again once it's over.

So for dinner we had some kind of weird noodles that were clear that I tried to eat most of. With it we had rice with eggs and onions on top of it. They let me pick off the onions. Hana-Kimi proved to be really good... well... besides the bad graphics. And it got kinda late, and I got really tired before it was over and went to sleep.

5th Day in Japan - July 12, 2009

I got to sleep in until 9:00am which was nice... and I took my shower. For breakfast I ate eggs and bacon. I wore my 'I <3 Anime' shirt with my tan shorts. Then around 10:00am we left to watch the baseball team at Seirei compete against another school. To get to the game we had to take a train and we went with 2 of Yuki's friends which were really nice. The scenes I saw while on the train were AMAZING! I wish I brought my camera but all the batteries I brought were dumb and cheap! =(

The baseball game was actually pretty interesting and it made me understand the game more since I've never really been into sports. Plus, Seirei won!!! 6 to 2. =) I was pretty proud to be a part of Seirei. I ended up getting a nice sun burn on my legs, arms, and face... but it was well worth it. The train back was tiring... we ended up taking 2 different ones and the wait for her mom at the pickup station was painful with my sunburns. Instead of going straight home we went to the food market, which I've never seen one that packed or empty of food! O_O It was weird. But we got a few things and her mom bought me batteries for my camera.

When we got home we watched TV till dinner was ready. We had meat (I think burger), with rice, miso soup, meat and potatoes shaped extremely weird. I did not like the miso soup or the edible bones, it wasn't really the taste, but the texture was way too much for me. Now I'm sitting on the couch writing in here. Her mom is making adjustments to my yukata while the TV is on. Oh, and they surprised me at dinner with chopsticks and a rice bowl for me as a present. Well, I'm about to go to bed, so goodnight.

So I didn't end up going to bed, instead Yuki's aunt came over with her daughter and we played with sparklers! It took over an hour to use them all up because there were so many. After the fireworks I went straight to bed, Yuki stayed up till 2 am.

6th Day in Japan - July 13, 2009

I woke up, did my morning routine shower and wore my new summer dress. For breakfast we had eggs and bacon again. Their aunt left me pudding with bread but after breakfast I was too full to eat anything but the pudding. Oh, and I had rice with breakfast as well. Yuki's mom gave me some ointment for my sunburn to bring with me to school. After chapel time I headed up to floor 7 to the International room. After a few minutes of visiting we went to the conference room and listened to 2 traditional Japanese folklore. One was about a girl who weaved clothing from her body because she was a crane. The other story was about an old man who found mice who gave him a hammer that granted wishes so when he got home he asked his wife what she wanted, and then they wished for it and a baby appeared in her arms.

After the stories was the kendo demonstration. I got a minute and a half video of his demonstration of a type of kendo called something (I forget). And then we learned the basics of kendo while using practice swords (made of wood). It was pretty fun! And now we are back in the International room watching Auntz in English with Japanese subtitles. We are going to eat lunch soon with the English Club. I'll try to write again once I'm home. Ja ne.

So it's about 9:00pm and I'm about to go to sleep. After eating lunch which consisted of 2 mini hotdogs, 2 pieces of meat, 2 chicken nugget-like things, egg, and 2 riceballs (onigiri), a girl (who I think was from the English Club) played her guitar for us and sand. She was sugoi (great/amazing)! After that we headed to a room where many obasan (old ladies) dress us in kimono's and yukata's. I took lots of pictures of friends and myself in the yukata's and kimono's.

After all of us were dressed, 11 of us (which is almost half) went into a very traditional Japanese room with tatami mat floors and paper doors. We were shown how to sit properly, which I fell over at one point and then we were given 2 treats to eat with out tea. It was so interesting how she made the tea but I thought it was too strong and bitter tasting. The green treat was SUPER sugary but the sakura treat was better.

After the tea ceremony we got told about a certain cloth used back in the day for about everything: bag, decoration, and more. And then we folded paper and glued it together to create a girl wearing a kimono bookmark. Now, the yukata and kimono party was over and we changed into our regular clothes and signed a thank you letter. Plus we received a free fan that went with out dancing (which SUCKED). About that time was 3:30pm and everyone went back to the International room to get picked up by their hosts. Yuki didn't show up till almost 6:00pm but I chilled with Matt and Sam in the meantime.

After we got home, I met Yuki's mom's parents who were really nice. They took us out to dinner where I found out cheese mochi was totemo oishi (very delicious)! Also, Yuki's grandparents asked me all sorts of questions and made me feel a part of the family. It was the most fun I've had so far and I really enjoyed their company. Plus I used a lot of Japanese talking to them since they barely knew any English. They said I spoke it well and I was really good at chopsticks. :) <--yes, they said this in Japanese and I understood! Well, now it's after dinner and I'm SUPER tired so oyasumi nasai (good night)!

3rd Day in Japan - July 10, 2009

I slept all the way until morning, made my bed, and did my morning routine shower. And for breakfast I had another hash brown with a bread croissant thing. Yuki's mom drove us to school again where we had to sit through chapel time and then I headed to the entrance of the school where we loaded on a bus to the Kita Ward Office where we thanked the important man who helped with out trip. He gave us a souvenir with a harmonica necklace. Close to the Kita Ward Office was the Kiga Sekisho or Hosoe Park which was a prison back in the Edo period, form 17 to 19th century in Japan. I got a paper on its history called Illustration of the Kiga Checking Station.

After that we got back on the bus and went on the Okuyama Field Trip which I went photo crazy on! <3 It was so much fun... the buildings I saw were dated back to the 1400's! And I put a 100 yen coin at the top of the tower wishing machine and got a miniature scroll that I can't read because it's written in ancient Japanese Kanji. But it was a long hot walk to these buildings but definitely worth it! :) Oh! And before this walk we had lunch and for lunch I had spaghetti, 2 onigiri, meat, and mini sausages. I ended up buying some drinks from a vending machine, which my mom would love the one I tried that looked like watered down mild but tasted like orange sherbert ice cream. But Aquarius and Pocari Sweat is my favorite. And then we spent the rest of the time waiting for the bus.

I got to the school and Yuki was there with some friends who she wanted to introduce me to. One had the same b-day as me, her name was Mari. And then we went to the cafeteria to wait for her mom whee I met more of her friends who took pictures with me. Finally, her mom showed up and we went home. I picked up the River Knows and read about 3 pages until her mom came in and told Yuki that she was too lazy to cook so we went and got burgers and fries from McDonalds and Moss Burger. After dinner I went to bed.

4th Day in Japan - July 11, 2009

I woke up, did my morning routine shower, and I wore my brown plaid capri's with my brown Washougal Japanese Class shirt. For breakfast I had meat and bread. Yuki had to study for school so I got to go shopping at LocTown which is pretty much a cheap shopping center. I first went to the 100 yen store and bought most of my souvenirs. And then I went to UniQlo where me and Matt pitched in for Si and Nick's souvenir shirts and I bought a yukata for 3900 yen (about $40). Next I went to the book and movie store where I found out anime was more expensive here than at home. But I did come across a good yaoi magazine that I ended up buying for about 800 yen ($8). After that it was about time to go back to the school and once I got there I waited for about an hour (12pm to 1pm) for Yuki to come pick me up and then we went home.

I showed Yuki and her mom my yukata and they said it was cute. And then they helped me put part of it on, pinning it so it wasn't so long on me and then her mom said she'd 'fix it'. And then I read through half my yaoi magazine when Yuki said we were going shopping... which I wasn't looking forward to since I only had 10,000 yen left ($100) not including the 5000 ($50) I put away for food in Kyoto. But I went along and had fun. I found out that everything in Japan is more expensive than in America. Shirts are 3000 yen ($30) at the least and a summer dress is around 5000 yen ($50). But anyway, I found a really cute summer dress on sale for 3000 yen ($30) instead, but I was iffy on buying it because I still had Randy, Richelle, Dad, and Chelle's whole family to get souvenirs for. So Yuki's mom bought me that, 3 pairs of socks, 1 par for Richelle as her souvenir, a hairpiece for my yukata, shoes for my yukata, bag for my yukata, and a bow for my yukata as well! It came to around 15,000 yen ($150)! I felt so bad but her mom said it was for my b-day.

After shopping they bought dinner and it consisted of... octopus! I actually ate and enjoyed a ball that had a piece of cooked octopus in it (with suctions on the legs and everything!) called takoyaki. I was so afraid of it at first, too. Oh, and for lunch I had some sort of cold ramen that is usually eaten on hot days. And then I went to bed.

2nd Day in Japan - July 9, 2009

I got up, made my bed, and prepared to take a shower. I chose to wear my green capri's with a green wife beater and my Chinese looking green vest over that. After my shower I ate breakfast with Yuki which was egg (that didn't taste done but I was hungry) and 2 hot dogs/sausages. After breakfast we headed to school, in which her mom drove us again. I went to Yuki's homeroom again and did her usual morning routine then headed up to the 7th floor. After a little bit, a Japanese man taught us about Townshend Harris, a man who first associated himself with the Japanese back in the 1800's. After the history lesson, we headed to the cafeteria to meet some of the students.
The first activity was with room 101 and 102 students. We had to write down their name, age, hometown, and hobby... and they had to write down mine (in English) <--so I wrote most of theirs in Japanese. Then, we got paired off with them judging on the numbers on our paper. I got 2 girls and we played 'Guess the Gesture Game' in which one person goes up and gets a sentence to act out, like: "I am hungry. Do you have food?" So without talking we used gestures which was really hard since the Americans and Japanese use different gestures. After that activity the room 202 students came in with a sheet of paper that had our names. I again, got 2 girls who didn't know much English. They had me fill out a piece of paper that had me ask Ms. Takase different questions in Japanese. After that I got to talk one-on-one with them and they taught me some Kanji.
After these activities we went back to the International Room on the 7th floor and learned some origami with the origami brothers (4 cute Japanese boys). We made a pistol, balloon, and crane. After they left we ate lunch which I got another awesome bento. This time we ate in the cafeteria. My bento consisted of egg, mini sausages, 2 meat things, something that tasted a lot like macaroni, another mean thing, and 2 onigiri which were kind of plain tasting. I also went to the store and bought a 90 yen strawberry milk thing wit ha 120 or 30 yen Pocari Sweat drink (tastes like Gatorade).

After lunch we did some Japanese geography and I learned about the popular areas in Japan. Then we went to the music room where we sang "Ue o Muite Aruko" which no one but the Washougal kids (my school) knew since we sing it every year for our Japanese festival. =) And then a school assembly happened where they introduced the sports teams. After that, school was pretty much out and Yuki actually came to the room earlier than yesterday and her mom drove us home. I've been writing in here (my journal I've kept for this trip) since I've gotten home and I'm trying to stay awake. I'll probably start reading or something till dinner. Ja ne (see ya)!

Okay, so I ended up reading about a page and a half when Yuki's mom came in and asked me to go shopping! <3 So Yuki stayed behind because of studies and I, her mom, and Eri went shopping. It was fun! We first went to the book store and I couldn't believe how big the manga section was! I endwed up buying a yaoi magazine since I could at least look at the pictures... plus there are some good titles in it that I can download later. +.+ And then I went to a store with very cute clothes and I almost bought a kimono for 4095 yen (about 40$). Instead I spotted a very cute drawing book that I had to get for Paula along with some cute stickers. And as I was browsing near the cashier I found bellybutton rings and bought myself a really cute and cheap strawberry one (8$). After this we went to the food section and got food that I might enjoy.

Then we went home and I talked with Yuki about manga (which she had a secret stash of her own) until dinner was done. We had curry and rice, pizza, and chicken. It was all very delicious. =) Now I'm about to go to bed, it's late so goodnight!

1st Full Day in Japan - July 8, 2009

I woke up an hour before the time to actually wake up which was 6:30 a.m. I woke up covered in sweat, wanting a shower. But I stayed laying until Yuki woke up and showed me how to work the shower. The bathroom was a little room with a tub and a movable, mini shower head where I either stood in the middle of the floor or sat on an upside down bucket. The water drained into the cracks between the floor tiles. At first I stood in the bath tub because I wasn't sure if I just stood there on the floor... but then I tested out the floor to make sure the water drained. It was hard getting use to changing the temperature but I finally got the hang of it after a little experimenting... plus the hot water takes forever to warm up. To check the time and temperature in the morning you have to press a button that is surround by other buttons. At one point I pressed one that made a weird dinging noise (and I could hear Yuki's mom speaking in Japanese to Yuki and then laughing) so I felt pretty stupid.

After I got done with the shower I put on a brown flowy skirt with a brown tank top and a white over shirt. I wore my flip flops that have the checkered design with them. Then I had breakfast which consisted of a hash brown and bread. Which is more than I ever eat for breakfast. It was hard cutting a hash brown with chopsticks so her mom gave me a fork. I thought we'd be riding bikes to school in the morning (because that's what the host family information told me) but instead her mom drove us since the weather was rainy. <--Yes, it's raining AND it's hot and muggy. But by now I'm already use to being sweaty and hot (I've just returned from a long day at school and have been writing since the end of the Korean trip).
Well, I followed Yuki to her class on the 6th floor! Yeah... the school has 7 floors in total! <--which is probably why they have 3 elevators. Anyway, we entered the classroom and I was greeted with very loud, Japanese teenagers! It was quite weird. And then they played a joke on one of their classmates by setting me in his seat. So he sat in another persons seat who came in and went "eh...?" lol, it was really funny but slightly awkward. After that the teacher came in and they had to do an announcement plus sing a religious, Christian song, almost like we pledge to the flag. After that they started stripping and changing into their athletic clothes right in the classroom. I mean, the girls just slipped shorts on under their skirts and wrestled their shirts on w/out fully exposing their upper halves. But the boys were stripping down to their boxers!

After they left to do their athletic competition thing, I went to the 7th floor where the rest of the Americans were (since this was a school trip and people from around America and Canada were on it as well). We talked over our schedule for the day and then headed out to the Seirei church where we met the priest who talked about the church and how much the Japanese owe us for coming over 200 or so years ago and introducing our religion: Christianity. After the church we went to the Seirei University where they showed us their specialty: medical and historical. WE went into one room where they droned on about a historical time line, but truthfully, I was too hot to care. After that we saw some other rooms where some Japanese girls were practicing nursing. We also visited the university's library which was huge! After all that we went to the Seirei Hospital where they just showed us how many people were working their as doctors (a lot).

Then we walked all the way back to the high school and ate lunch which was made by Yuki's mom in a bento that had a Hello Kitty design. It contained 2 sandwiches as big or a little smaller than my fist which were delicious except for the lettuce in which I picked off. It also had 2 mini hot dogs with ketchup and these 2 miniature egg role things. In this cute little butter cup holder was a weird green spongie thing that tasted really good! And next to that were some pieces of what tasted like beef. I ate everything but the lettuce on my sandwiches. Before I ate my bento (which I forgot to take a picture of >.<+) I filled up my water bottle in the cafeteria and since I was the last person to fill mine I got stuck walking back alone. On the way I bowed to a group of girls who bowed back and as soon as I walked fully past them they started squealing, "Ooh! Kawaii yo!" (Meaning: I'm cute)... lol, it was really funny.

After lunch we visited a little bit, went fully over our schedule and got handed T-shirts with a Seirei logo. And then we headed to the gym where we were introduced to the whole school. After the awkward introduction it was pretty much time to go home, but Yuki had to study a little later so me, Matt, and Morgan wandered around Hamamatsu looking for a convenient store but didn't have any luck so we went into the schools cafeteria and found a store in there where we bought drinks. Around that time I found Yuki and her mom picked us up and took us home. As soon as I got home I started writing in here about my first fully day in Japan! I ended up falling asleep after the third page or so. I slept till they woke me up for dinner which was of a giant egg thing with rice and some over sort of substance (I think) in the middle... I took one bite and almost gagged. I glanced at the bowl beside my plate and saw green stuff (miso soup) and decided not to eat it. So I tried the chicken instead which was really good but my stomach was really upset after that egg, rice, and other substance. So I watched TV the rest of the time and explained to Yuki and her mom that my stomach was upset. Yuki told me I didn't have to force myself to stay up so I headed to bed and slept all the way till morning (6:30 a.m.).

July 23rd, 2009
I had a journal with me throughout my whole trip so I am copying everything from my journal onto this blog (well, multiple blogs since it WAS a 2 week trip).

Airport - Portland
I went to the airport for my first time. We were around 10-15 minutes late in arriving at the airport since we were suppose to arrive at 9:30 a.m. which is exactly 2 hours before the plane was scheduled to take off. But with no problems I got my ticket and went through security. By the time that was over it was time to board the flight.

1st Airplane - Horizon
I sat next to Matt (friend from school) for the 30 minute flight to Seattle. It was slightly small with only 2 rows of 2 seats aligned down each side of the plane.

Lifting off felt exactly like a roller coaster ride heading up a steep hill (except fast). The world below looked like a mere figurine... and then... WHITE! WE were IN the clouds! But that didn't last long and soon enough we were above the clouds. It looked like what heaven would look like. It looked like that the rest of the way to Seattle.

I must say, landing was much scarier than lifting off. It felt as if we were dropping on and off for about 5 minutes until we landed. On the flight we received free water and pretzels (or something like pretzels)... o_O?

Seattle Airport
We waited in the airport for a little over an hour. To get to the Korean section we had to take a train that shot us straight to our section. It was WAY cool... it felt just like the Grey Hound in Portland where you have to stand and hold onto the poles. After that I exchanged most of my money from US dollars to yen, leaving me with about $40 to spend on food. I chose to eat at Burger King rather than the Udon place because I knew I'd be eating Japanese food soon enough once I got there. I felt 10 times better after eating (did I mention I have a huge cold throughout all these flights?!). As I was eating with Matt, I got to meet some of the people who were on the same trip as us. We finally boarded the plane to Korea at 2:00 p.m. ish.

2nd Airplane - Korean
This plane is 2 maybe 3 times bigger than the Horizon one. The flight from Seattle to Korea is 10 hours and 30 minutes. Right now we have 7 hours and 38 minutes left till we reach Korea. They've already gave us our meal which was slightly disgusting (Korean food: SPICY)! But I did try everything on my tray! The only thing I actually enjoyed was the sticky rice and watermelon.

They also offered us wine! Must be the legal age for Koreans. But we all declined the offer (because we can get sent home if we're caught drinking). Instead we had coffee which was really bad! We also get our own TV's that allows us to watch movies, listen to music, play video games, shop, and view all our flight information with a picture of the globe and how far the plane has traveled and how much travel is left.

It's really classy. I've been blowing my nose like crazy (thank god that I've got toilet paper)... although now my nose is completely chaffed. Well, I'm gonna stop writing for now... until something new and imporved happens. Ja ne!
Ok, I'm still on the same plane with only 3 hours and 44 minutes left till we reach Korea. Right now it is 9:30 p.m. at home. It's barely past noon where I am on the plane. I just finished watching 'Taken' which Danielle (my sister) has been telling me how awesome it was... she was right! <3 I loved it... and now I'm going to a be a little more careful after seeing THAT! Hopefully mom and dad don't watch it before I return... ^_^;... they'll be freaking! Well, I'm gonna try and stay awake for another 3 hours by watching some more movies, they got an awesome selection... I'm debating on whether to watch Valkyrie, Bride Wars, Coraline, or 17 Again... I did eeney meeney miney mo and got Coraline. I'll talk again soon! Ja ne (see ya)!
P.S. The whole left side of my head hurts... need aspirin!!!
So... the rest of the 10 hours flight sucked! I got through half of the movie Coraline and started to feel sick to my stomach so I turned it off and fell in and out of sleep the rest of the way. Once we got to Korea, I realized how hot it was... well it wasn't exactly hot, just... muggy. There hasn't been a time yet since I arrived in Korea that there hasn't been a sheen of sweat on me!

Korea to Japan
The flight was an hour and 30 minutes but I slept through most of it and we arrived at the airport at 8:30 p.m. ish which was somewhere around 4-5 a.m. at home the previous day (meaning it's Tuesday there where it's Wednesday here). I've been looking at my Ipod to see what time it is at home. From the Japanese airport we took the bus from Nagoya to Hamamatsu.

This was about another hour or so until we reached Seirei Christopher High School (which is a Christian Japanese school, btw). And I met my host family: Yuki, my host sister, her mother Naomi, and little sister Eri (14 years old). We got in her car and that's when I realized that the drivers side was on the right and that she was driving on the opposite side of the road! That's when I really started even believing that I was actually in Japan! <3
So when we reached their house I was even more surprised at how big it was! Mom and dad always talked about how they lived in honey combs and tubes stacked on top of each other (because of the population). Next to their house is a field of orange tress and sunflowers aligned the drive way.
But anyway, I got into the house, took off my shoes, and headed upstairs to where I would be sleeping. For such a big house, Yuki and Eri still shared a room, albeit a pretty big room, but a room. I slept on a mattress next to Yuki's bed where her mom instantly started making it. Her mother and Eri don't speak a word of English, but Yuki is pretty fluent. She was a transfer student at Onalaska High School in Washington. While they were all helping me to get settled in, I presented their presents to them (Yuki, some chocolates, Eri, jelly beans, and Naomi, a BIG box of chocolates). They all were impressed at what they received, especially mom's homemade gifts for the whole family (table place mats) so I was really happy! And then I changed into pajamas for it had been awhile since I'd gotten any real rest and quickly fell asleep.

I'll start on my first full day in Japan in my next blog entry.

June 28th, 2009
I've begun an interesting hobby of making figures out of paper using designs printed off the internet. I'll be posting my collection in here.

The Brave Little Toaster, an old movie I use to watch when I was young. And I used tape instead of glue which made it a little tackier then my newest works... but it only took me about an hour to finish:

A Bulbasaur from Pokemon! It was quite simple but took me about 2 hours to finish for such a little guy. But I was extremely pleased with the outcome:

A chibi Roxas from Kingdom Hearts. He was extremely difficult to put together considering he was just a boxed head... but his pieces were so tiny which made him hard to work with... but he took me about as long as Bulbasaur did:

A chibi ceiling cat! He's famous all over the internet for being the cat to watch you masturbate. He took less than an hour and was simple and cute:

A Baby Luigi! He took me about 3-4 hours but definitely turned out great!

A Horn from Zelda. This only took me about an hour and I am quite satisfied with the results:

The Water Bomb. It's a fish with a bomb in it's mouth from Zelda! It took me about 4-5 hours altogether:

Link's Master Sword from Zelda. This took me about 1-2 hours:

A Heartpiece from Zelda! This was my second attempt at making if because the first time I attempted to make it, I failed. It took me about 2-3 hours to complete:

The Nintendo 64 game of the book that attacks you in one of the picture levels you jump through in the Mario game. This took me about 1 hours tops but was pretty difficult due to the means of gluing it together:

The Super Nintendo walk up that is used in Super Mario. This took me much less than an hour to do:

A Skeleton Kitty! This took me about 6-7 hours... quite difficult but very much worth it. :)

A Zelda Master Key. Pretty simple and a fast build.

A Naruto Mask, I believe. Took very little time to make with very satisfying results.

Another Pokemon: Charmander. Took quite awhile to make but was well worth it in the end.

A Black Mokona from xxxHolic/Tsubasa Chronicles. Took quite awhile the first time making it, but I sold this one and have already made another black one as well as the white one.

The hardest Pokemon to build yet: Absol. He took quite awhile with a lot of mistakes before I finished him off.

The Pokemon Chimecho. My biggest break from paper crafting was in the middle of building this one. He was easy, but boring with a good result in the end.

A Chibi Link from Zelda! Cute and simple!

A No Mask from Spirited Away. Simple and fast with good result.

A Chibi Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Cute and simple!

A Mario Coin. Not TOO simple, but fast to build and cut out.

An Antec Girl. I think she's an original character. I got her off of a Japanese site. She was quite difficult but fun and with very satisfactory results.

I have yet to take a photo of my White Mokona. And I am currently working on a Life-sized Toon Link and Hatena Girl from the same creators as Antec Girl.

June 20th, 2009
Friday, June 19th was the last day of school. Friday night (last night), I spent the night at my friend Miranda's house for her b-day party which was today from 1pm-8pm (she turned 17!). I stayed till about 6pm. We played a whole bunch of Rock Band and I gotta chill with a whole bunch of friends (once the actual party started).

We ate smores Friday night and for the first time I watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was pretty good. I felt extremely awkward around all her other friends I didn't know because they were all spazzy people who I never met in school before... plus I'm not really a spazzy person so they looked at me like I was weird because I didn't talk much. -_-'

All-in-all, this was the first event of summer for me and it turned out to be a good start. Hopefully I'll catch up on a lot of anime I've been meaning to watch. And I'll be adding more blog entries to my summer experiences so that I can keep track of all the fun stuff I do this summer!
