: Well, it's true that I got hurt but Yukiko healed me up.

: Well, I'm just glad that you're not in pain.
: That I'm not. Though speaking of "pain" how is Topaz?

: Of course that's what you, er, meant. Basically he got taken to a "specialist" that another of his assistants suggested. Also we decided to name his new form "Mazoku Topaz".

: I know, it must be a reference but TRY as I might I can't think of it.
: Hmmm... well, as long as he's alright I guess I can't be too concerned. Though it seems that YOU are oddly overly concerned with him... Fufufu.
: E-eh? What are you talking about?

*Riri storms off*
: Fufufu, someday she'll confess her true feelings. But until then she needs to work on her attitude. OH! I probably should have told her about the girl in shiny glasses that asked me to join her group. Eh, I assume that's not too important...
*Meanwhile, in another location Topaz wakes up from laying on a bed.*
W-where am I?
: You're in the Touhou universe.
Wait, did I die again?
: What? No! We just decided that you'd come here. Besides, hasn't it become tradition for you to do a Touhou girl after your year finale?
That's a fair point. It has been happening so often it might as well be official at this point. But I must say something, you look different.
: Really? I think I look the same. What's different?
I'm not sure. It's more like... you're more uniform or something.
: I did get a new snapshot and this time with background. Maybe it's that.

: Though I'm not the only one who has changed. Since the viewers can't see you, do know that Empry is wearing new glasses.
*Topaz touches them, showing off the new glasses-model with close-ups and everything.*
Rockin' like a PK attack. So do they have any special features?
: They're glasses. They help you see things.
I suppose that's all I should ask for. But it seems I've gotten distracted.
: Happens a lot.
More times than I'd like to admit. But now that the viewers are here we should begin the blog. So who is the gal today?

*A mysterious woman walks up.*

: Besides, Eirin is the one that cured you. She even has some notable information for us!
I like information! So what all happened? I didn't die, right?
: Partially. Your brain patterns... *continues to speak medical mumble jumble.*
I'm confused.
: I'll excuse you on the grounds you've been unconscious. Essentially your conscious faded out when hit by Rise's "Thousand Curses" attack, which is usually an instant-kill attack. Because of this your subconscious took over and you became, what was it again... "Mazoku Topaz" or something.
: I named it!
I still don't understand...
: What? A MONKEY could understand that. There's no way that I could make it even simpler!
I'm not a monkey but I still don't get it.
: Darmatian hung on with a Focus Sash, became Zen Mode, and defeated Shadow Rise with Special Attacks. Okay so it seemed more like Physical Attacks but shut up.
I just said I'm not a monkey! And it's not that, I understand that I somehow got a super-powerful demon form. And I also understand that it took over my body when I was unconscious.
: Well, not just unconscious. I imagine the instant-kill property may have had something to do with it as well. I'm just not sure what the relationship exactly is.
Fair point. But what I'm confused is WHY. Why do I have such an ability?
: Oh, that. I have the solution right here.
*Eirin puts an X-ray of Topaz's chest on the machine used to show them off.*
Hey wait, where did you get THAT?
: Yukari, now shut up while I explain this.
*Eirin pulls out a pointer. She points to a diamond-shaped object beside Topaz's heart.*
: THIS is the reason why.
W-what is that?
: I cannot be certain without further examination, but it seems to be an elemental core of some sort. Judging by your "Mazoku" form I assume that it belongs to a shadow elemental. Shadow elementals are the cruelest and most evil, usually seen among demons.
AH! DEMONS!
: Yes...*sighs*.
So how did this thing get inside me?
: I'm not quite sure. To know further would require investigation.
I see then. Anything that I can help with?
: Hmmm, it's possible that you were feeling the elemental's energy whirling around inside your body. Have you been feeling a sharp or pulsating pain covering your body at all?
Sure, I've felt it all the time over the past year!
: Past... year. Hmmm... That coincides with your defeat of Hayate and her evil book, wasn't it?
That it was, but I'm surprised that you read my blogs.
: I don't. Er, let's just say that someone I know is quite the fan. But getting back to the important part. It seems that the core, or let's say the "fuel source", of the book imbedded itself inside your body.
: Oh hey! Is that why Shiki and Komachi came by?
: You remember well. Yes, they were investigating the large amount of evil energy that was trying to escape the spirit realm. However, once they realized that I couldn't extract it without extreme damage to you they decided to allow it to stay.
I'm relieved that they didn't consider me a casualty and take it by force.
: Well, I'm guessing that they figured that having it in your possession it would be far less likely to be recovered by the forces of evil.
So, if I understand correctly, I have some super-powerful evil thing inside me that turns me into a demon when I'm in peril.
: At least you don't have a meter that shows how long you can be a glowing furry!
That's true. So how powerful is this... elemental?
: I can't tell the proper age of the elemental without examining it closer. The age determines both the size and power of said elemental. I'd say that you have at least an average-sized elemental core. This means that you could power an airship, give or take.
...Wow.
: Wow indeed. Luckily with further training and relaxation you should be safe and even be able to control your form.
That's incredible! I can't believe you've explained all this!
: Don't forget that she watched over you while you were unconscious.

: Plus my clinic will get more patients. But I'll feel bad. I can't have a blog without Kaguya-hime getting one. She's a huge fan and I don't want my princess to become angry with me.

: HA! YOU? Talk about KAGUYA-HIME? You're overstepping your boundaries, Topaz.
: Well, SOMEone in this room should get a blog done about them.
: *sigh* I SUPPOSE that I can be the one. Go ahead.
Head
Hair: Eirin has a really nice hair style. First off is her most iconic thing, her side-braided ponytail resting on her right shoulder. It looks really nice, and while I'm not a fan of side tails this sort of thing is nice. Being a braid certainly helps too. Even though her ponytail is resting you can also see part of it behind her, showing that her hair is long enough to go to her hips or so. I'm not too big on her bangs as she has a part in the middle of them. The length does help though, going to her eyes or so and framing her face well. She also always wears a nurses cap with a cross on it. The main part of her hat is a dark blue, looking like a night sky with constellations. Eirin also has a nice hair color that I like. It's either a white or silver color, both of which work well with her mysterious personality. It fits that she has white hair too!
: Wait, why do you mean "it fits that I have white hair"?
Well, you ARE a Lunarian...
: Yeah, but I don't get what that means at all.
: You'll have to excuse Empry. Sometimes he doesn't realize that not everyone gets references.

Alright then, and do know that I like Eirin's hair (though it's nowhere near one of my favorites).
Grade: B
Eyes: It's hard to tell the color of Eirin's eyes. They're either blue or a dark grey, it's hard to tell. In the manga, as it shows her better, her eyes are a fair shape. Surprisingly they're tarame as I was expecting a rougher version but they don't look too bad either.
Grade: B-
Face: Looking towards the manga again, Eirin isn't too special here either. She's a fairly average Touhou character, and the fact that she has a small or lack of nose really helps. Sadly not too much to talk about here.
Grade: B-

Hey, with Touhou characters such as yourself it's hard to notice certain features. Plus it's been a while since I read a manga with you in it, so my memory isn't that great.

: He did, but it seems to be sealed again. And now I can't seem to find him. He's SOMEWHERE in the Touhou universe...

: Isn't it obvious? Only I should have that sort of evil power. With it I'll finally be able to reign supreme over EVERY anime world.
*A shadowy figure whispers inside Aldra's mind.*
???: Don't forget... If you get me that power I can finally show you where your sister really is...
*Aldra takes a deep breath and continues her search.*
Body
Build: Eirin is actually one of the rare curvy Touhou characters. Sadly her outfit hides most of her legs and butt though, so even though she's seen in official works sitting it's not as good as it could be. Eirin does seem to have a nice waist at least. She might be “mature” compared to most of the other characters, as she's one of the “elders” of the franchise. I'll add that one of the official sources, Forbidden Scrollery, makes her out to be really tall. To the point where Reisen is taller than the average human while Eirin is about a head taller than THAT.
Grade: C+
Breasts: That said, the one part of Eirin that shows through is her chest. Especially considering that a lot of characters in the series are probably flatter Eirin stands ahead. It helps again that she's a more “mature” woman, but do note that she's made even bustier in fanart. A shame she's not shown more fair though.
Grade: B
Clothes: Sadly I can't remember if Eirin wears any outfits in the manga I've read so I'll only go off her main costume. It's a red and blue nurse's dress with short sleeves and constellation designs on the blue parts. The shirt has red on the right and blue on the left while the dress part is the opposite. It provides a cool effect. Sadly it's also pretty bulky, as said before, and doesn't show off too much. Certain official works also makes it seem poofier than usual as well, but do note that the bottom has frills on it too. Near the bottom of her skirt are trigrams, which seem to be yin-yang designs of some sort, and have to do with Feng Shui in some way that I can't really understand. She also wears ankle socks and black shoes which look clog-like at times, both of which are pretty meh. She may have also worn a version that resembles a Chinese dress in Silent Sinner, but I don't know if that's just the art design being odd (that's the same manga I think that had Marisa not wear her hat through most of it). Also she wields a bow and arrow, though it hasn't been proven if she uses them in combat or not. That said apparently in Buddhism the way Eirin holds her weapons, the bow held in the right hand with an arrow in the left is a symbol of wisdom as a means of projecting method or skillful means. I wonder if this is the reason why White Mages can sometimes use bows...

*Reisen wobbles up on crutches.*
: Well I hope it brings YOU luck!
*She goes off, and both Topazs look at Eirin with concern.*
: What? She stubbed her toe on a bamboo shoot. It's not a REAL rabbit's foot. What do you take me for?

: Eh? What sort of nonsense are you talking about? If you're talking about those “vidio gaemes” that people play you'd have better luck with Kaguya.

Mind
Personality: Eirin is a mysterious but pleasant person. She was originally on the moon with Kaguya, but was “exiled” due to creating a powerful immortality potion called the “Hourai elixir”. Although Eirin can technically create any type of drug she did need Kaguya's ability of Eternity to help. Anyway Eirin fled with her princess to Earth, and as she wasn't punished decided to serve her princess as punishment and defeating anyone who came to pick them up. She is VERY devoted to Kaguya, and has been protecting her ever since. Eventually they created a home in the bamboo forests of Eientei. However, once she heard that more powerful people were coming she decided to seal Earth in a pocket of endless night. Fortunately they were just asking her to come back, but Eirin remains on Earth. There she uses her knowledge to create medicine for people. Anyone can visit her too, so she's treated as the main doctor of the series. Not only can she help with all sorts of diseases her medicines have no side-effects (though you cannot use both Youkai and human medication at the same time). She's also very gracious about the payment; it's not like she's going anywhere xD.
Eirin is generally very nice, but sometimes her intelligence gets the better of her. She has no patience for fools and can come across as either conceited or impatient. That said she is quite intelligent and powerful to boot. Even for the Touhou universe, no less. Her abilities include making any sort of drug, as said earlier, as well as her high intelligence and ability to use magic. She's also immortal much like Kaguya, a point that was in debate but it seems that she also drank the elixir.
There's a lot to talk about Eirin on the “mythos” area. While her true name is unpronounceable by the impure (like earthlings, that explains why I sometimes forget that she has two “i”s in her name) “Eirin” means "Eternal jewel" and Yagokoro means “Eight minds”. This shows how intelligent she is, and is one of the reasons she's thought of to be Omoikane. Omoikane is one of the great gods and the one who thought of the plan to get Amaterasu out of hiding. She even has a Spell Card named after Omoikane as well. Speaking of her spells, she also has one named “Apollo 13” and, due to the comments it seems that Lunarian action may have caused that space failure. She also has the moon landing in the background of one of her non-spell cards. Speaking of Apollo Eirin's bow and arrow may have some connection to Artemis, his sister in Greek mythology and the goddess of the moon. She had a bow as well, and at one point in one of the mangas Yukari wonders if the reason she can't see the crescent moon is because no one there is wielding a bow anymore. Eirin also has Ursa Major as one of her constellations. While it is one of the most famous constellations do know that it was also Callisto who was a servant of Artemis.
Overall there's a lot of cool things about Eirin, but she isn't one of my favorite Touhou girls.
Grade: B
Libido: Eirin really doesn't have much libido shown. She does hold her mistress Kaguya in high respects, but there relationship is not a sexual one (I'm guessing). There's also the running joke where she'll “punish” Reisen and that does make her seem like a sadist. Sadly again it's not too sexual either. She also has a rivalry with Yukari, especially after she gives Eirin some Lunarian sake as the latter knew that every moon invasion had failed before.
Grade: C
Age: Eirin may be one of the oldest characters I've ever discussed. She's at least 2000+ years old, but we don't have a lot to go on. We do know she was instrumental in the founding of the Lunar civilization some tens of thousands years ago. It was also stated that she's older than Tsukuyomi. This gets into Japanese mythos again, but it involves Tsukuyomi being born (with Amaterasu and Susanoo) after Izanagi came back from seeing Izanami. Izanagi and Izanami were the ones that created the islands of Japan, and from other Touhou material we can see that happened over 25 million years ago. That should give you a realistic idea of how old Eirin is, she's so old that she TRANSCENDS HUMANITY. That said she's also timeless and immortal, which makes age meaningless but this is still an astounding age and it's no surprise she can be treated as a goddess.

: I tried to stall her as well as I can, but she's far more powerful than I am!
: Do not worry, Kaguya-hime. I'll take care of Topaz.
???: WAIT!
*The curtain goes up, revealing the beautiful princess within.*
