This is the Three-hundredth-forty-second week of using the "Perfect Anime Girl Sheet". Notice: This Blog may contain Unmarked Spoilers.

Welcome back everyone! Last time we found out that Aldra captured me using her Shadow Triad. This meant that the TDB ninjas made-

: ASSEMBLE!

*Homura and Kaede do an epic pose, with fireworks with a glowing sign that says "TDB" on it sparkles in behind them. However, the final "B" sparks and dims out.*

: You're right, that's not quite as epic without Akatsuki...

: If you're wondering who this "Akatsuki" is let's have Topaz finish his summary.

Thank you Kaede. As I was saying, the TDB ninjas brought me from the Gunpla tournament to this arena. Last week I managed to defeat Akatsuki.

: You smacked her bottom real good!

And it felt really good too... Though I imagine that yours would feel much better.

: PERVERT! B-but thank you for your kind words.

: A-HEM! Are we forgetting that we still have a battle to commence with?

: Oh yeah! I'm supposed to fight you! Something about ruining my epic catchphrase or something.

: Well, I'm glad you like swords.

Though I am not a fighter.

: Of course, with as min-maxing you are you're obviously Red Mage...

: Uh, I don't get what you're saying, but prepare yourself for MAXIMUM SWORDPLAY!

*SNIKTI!* *Homura brings out her six swords neatly held three in a hand.*

: I can only imagine the attack penaties that much multiweapon fighting entails...

Wait, I haven't even introduced you yet!

: Well hurry up! We don't have all day!

: It's not like I'll allow him to leave, but my patience is wearing thin...

Well, you heard them everyone...



: Hmm. You know what? I think Hikage told me about you. Something about you discussing her, Yagyuu, and Ikaruga.

That I have.

: Well then, I'll allow you some time to talk about me. But if I hear something I dislike...

*Homura brushes the blades of her multiple weapons together menacingly. Topaz gulps.*

Well then, let's get g-going!

: Don't get your shivers timbered, Topaz. She's a ninja, not a pirate!

Head
Hair: Homura has a great hair color. Technically it's a very dark brown but it's easy to confuse it with black (as I did last week) and I do like the color. I will say that like Shana she has a "Crimson" version where her hair turns red and fiery. It's not too bad, and considering her name means "flame" it fits that way as well. It's a cool effect but I do prefer her original hair color more. Style-wise Homura usually keeps her hair in a long ponytail tied with a white ribbon. It reaches past her knees and with a bump in the back she seems to have really long hair. She does have bangs and they're pretty basic, but there's a few interesting things. She has a bump in her bangs on the side at times and some of her hair creates an ahoge (or that type of hair that sticks up). Her sides are also long, reaching her chin or so. Surprisingly even though I like her normal hair color more the Crimson side wins out style-wise; her hair retains the same length but is completely free and fairly wide too. Overall both versions have their advantages and it's hard to choose my favorite. I suppose that in the games she can have different hairstyles or accessories, but her normal hair is hard to improve on (though the sun hat from Burst is notable as it's used in a cutscene).
Grade: A-

Eyes: Homura seems to have blue-gray eyes officially. Personally I think they're a bit more green too, but I can see their reasoning. A shame that Homura has that color of eyes as there's a lot of blue-eyed Senran girls it seems. In Crimson form her eyes turn red, again much like Shana, and while the difference is appreciated I'm not too big on red eyes as a whole. Homura has a bit of a tsurime but not a very strong one. The corners of her eyes are nice though, especially with close-up images. The art style is really nice when it comes to eyes/faces for my tastes. Sadly Homura doesn't have natural glasses, they don't want to confuse her with a certain time-traveling namesake I suppose, but you can put them in there in most games.
Grade: B

Face: As said I really like Senran Kagura's art style. It's a soft and puni style, one of my favorite. Homura especially has some soft curves and her small features certainly help too. Sadly for Homura the style does have some disadvantages. First is that she doesn't look too noteworthy compared to the other girls (well, there's one big exception, but I'll discuss that in "body"). The biggest flaw is that her face seems flat on occasion which is really unfortunate.

Body
Build: Homura actually has measurements! Most of the important ones, at least. She's 163 cm tall and while she's missing a "weight" I really don't mind. Her three sizes are 87/57/85, meaning she has a fairly even body (even if like almost all Senran girls her bust is larger). While her chest is shown off a bit a certain item of clothing means that she also has a few good buttshots. For all it matters, considering the series doesn't show off butts nearly enough. There are enough to almost consider Homura to be a rear-girl of the original Hebijo but Haruka of the thong probably covers that better. It's a shame that she lacks buttjiggle in Burst, at least as far as I can tell, and hopefully they bring it back sometime. Anyway, the puni art style also helps here, making her curves seem softer and her legs look really great too. Of course, I can't forget to mention Homura's main trait: She's completely tanned. Or at least as far as a sarashi and panties tan. I LOVE tanlines girls and Homura is the first girl I've done with that trait. It looks really great on her and she's the only dark-skinned Senran Kagura girl (at least as far as the main series goes). Humorously I wonder if this trait is the reason that she got to pose with Kan'u from Ikkitousen in one of her cards. But long story short I really enjoy Homura's curvy body. It would be nice if her butt had more attention and jiggle though...

Breasts: That said, Homura's chest is pretty bouncy. Not overly so, but a good amount. 87 cm is also a nice size, especially as her hips are only 2 cm smaller. As said before her chest is partially tanned and that's a style I really enjoy. That said it's not all great for Homura's chest. You see, there's a famous image of her with a ninja scroll between her chest. I don't necessarily dislike it (for obvious reasons) but it got WAY too much publicity. In the Burst game it got plastered on almost every billboard and even made the cover of the European release. Deep Crimson's release isn't much better, but that's not Homura so I shouldn't judge. Homura is on the American release but at least it's more of an action shot of her and Asuka, her rival. The only bad thing is calling it a "Double D" edition, no wonder people can't take this franchise seriously... Speaking of cup size though, Homura is an E-cup. I'll also add that there's a quote from the creator which is taken out of context too much, that he thinks breasts are life and butts are hometown. Seems like one of those things is more important than the other, but I shouldn't get into it.
Finally, I can't forget that the OVA actually showed the nipples of various girls, Homura included. This is big because usually the franchise strays away from such things, using stickers on breasts and light beams on bare butts (though a certain glitch in the latest game is funny). I will say that... they're not too impressive. But that might be because the OVA as a whole seems off-model; it's less the normal plump Nan Yaegashi artstyle and more of the weak Hoods artstyle similar to Fantasista Doll or Flag Kanojo. It's not too great of an OVA.
Grade: A

Clothes: Homura has a multitude of outfits. Her first one, worn during the original game and Burst, is a black saior uniform with a short skirt and low socks. There's a red lined pattern around the collar, bottom of her skirt, and ends of her sleeves. She also has a lucky black necktie, always a great part of a school uniform. It would be nice if she had higher socks though. She wears a black bikini under this, though in the games you can change her swimsuit. In Shinovi Versus and past she adds a long cape and grey jacket. She also puts bandages on her left thigh. However, the main appeal is she starts to wear a sarashi and red FUNDOSHI. I don't usually like fundoshi but Homura's is certainly wonderful both due to the fact that it's not a braided type and the color works well with Homura's skin color. Other outfits in the games include a brown cardigan with white shirt under and a red bow tie (the winter uniform), a sundress, and a lot of customization. I'm not even sure what all she can wear considering all the newer games. In a recent official image she wears a red shirt with “meat” written on it (which reminds me of a certain Food Wars dark-skinned “Mito”). There's a lot of various outfits in New Wave as well. These include a wedding dress, a black ninja suit or so, lots of casual outfits that make her seem like a catelog model, a tennis uniform and various yukatas, a maid outfit, a Christmas bikini and cape, a pirate outfit (somehow the internet continued to run), gypsy bikini and police uniform, jeans, a cheerleader outfit, and finally a poorly-done naked apron. Overall she does get a lot of chest focus but I'd rather see more of her fundoshi.

*As Topaz finishes Homura slashes at him with her swords. He gets hit, taking 5 damage from each of the three swords in her hand.*

: FINALLY! I was waiting for you to make the first move.

: And I think Topaz was flat-footed, that means extra damage!

Yeah, I was sure taken by surprise! What's the big deal?

: It's because you talked about my body and traditional outfit in such a perverse way!

: Don't worry, you're far from the only girl he does that to.

*Homura attacks Topaz again, but he avoids it by becoming multiple copies of himself.*

: Bantha Fodder! Look at all those perverts! Though I should have Akatsuki teach me that move...

: Do you really think that such silly things can intimidate me?

No, I'm using this OFFENSIVELY!

*Topaz's clones strike Homura in multiple ways, damaging her so much that she goes flying and her black school uniform is destroyed. Her funoshi bottom is facing upward while her chest is pressing against the arena floor.*

Such beauty...

: Topaz! Concentrate!

But if I stare too hard I might rip a hole right through! Wait, that's not a bad thing...

: I mean on the blog! Finish it while she's down!

: Come on, Homura! I know you're not defeated yet!

Mind
Personality: Homura is a former student of Hebijo academy. She and her allies ran off after they disobeyed the main villain in the first game and after that they become fugitives. Poor ones at that, if the OVA is any indication but I have no actual information. Sadly this also wasn't the only time Homura was betrayed by someone she cared for. After all, who can trust Kyuubey- wait, wrong Homura. Jokes aside this girl took ninja training from a young age, elementary school even. She got really close to her master and was able to discuss things with him, to relief the stress of training. However, right before high school she was attacked by her master who claimed to be an “evil” ninja. The next part is all a blur to her, only remembering her teacher's blood-stained face. As a result of Hanzo's no-tolerance rules she couldn't go there to train further so she got recruited into Hebijo. There she joined the elite squad and the rest is history.
Homura is your basic “honorable foe” type of villain. She's not necessarily evil but rather she enjoys to battle. In fact it's really the only time she feels alive due to the betrayal she's had. She's very quick and strong, and can use multiple swords at once. I don't know Sengoku Basara but it seems that Date Masamune wields his weapons in a similar way (and Homura even seems to have an official cosplay card of him). When in Crimson mode she tends to use a single longsword. Her animal spirit seems to be the Japanese rat snake though her attacks don't show it as much as Hikage. She's also tsundere against Asuka, not allowing her to fall to anyone but Homura. She does get to be better with friends, being the main one to refuse Hibari's deal to become friends and the last one to not trust the Hanzo. Now their rivalry seems more friendly and Homura is a bit more friendly (though she's still a TsunDB easily). She likes Japanese food it seems, and has an odd sense of humor when it comes to impersonations.
Homura is voiced by Eri Kitamura, one of my favorite VAs, while Monica Rial does the English dub. Don't listen to the English dub, it almost seems like every girl has the exact same voice. On the other hand Kitamura has a WONDERFUL voice and I really enjoyed her Homura. Overall I do like Homura too, but she needs a few stronger personality tropes.
Grade: B+

Libido: There's not too much to say here. Homura really doesn't show a lot of libido. She may have had a crush on her teacher when she was younger, but as said before he's not around. Homura's main love interest would be Asuka, I'm guessing. Homura is one of those "honorable enemies" that's really common and the rivalry is similar to shounen series. Well, except that she calls Asuka "Jugs" despite only being smaller than her by 3 cm (their butts are the same size). I guess that, with Asuka only being 155 cm her chest looks bigger but still. I don't know as far as the future games, there might be more but I can't be sure. I'll also mention her special where she really goes at a popsicle though it's a shame she was the only Hebijo girl to appear in one, and I am jealous of her scrolls too.

Age: Homura is a second year student at Hebijo (or at least was until her expulsion). She's older than you'd expect, being 17 and her birthday is January third if curious.

: Blame the site not having a good image of my Crimson version

That happens far too much, like with Mirai's idol outfit. Just use your imagination, readers.

: Or not, as I intend to strike you down right here!

*Crimson Homura charges Topaz, striking him with her flaming sword.*

HOT HOT HOT!

*He rolls on the floor, eventually putting out the flames but he still takes 25 damage.*

: Quick! Do something!

But what?

: I don't know! What, do you expect me to know everything you have? You got lucky with the ruler last time!

Ruler... That's it!

: I'm not sure what you have planned, but it's no match for me!

*Topaz backs away as Crimson Homura swings again. He also pulls out an antique-looking matchlock handgun.*

: Heh, I've seen bigger with Mirai. And I don't often say that. So what? Are you going to shoot me? Ninjas are bulletproof!

: And here I was thinking that Chesnaught had that...

Luckily this is a special gun, given to me by the ruler of Japan! Or at least a great uniter.

*Topaz pulls the trigger and POOF! A large cloud of smoke gets blasted in Homura's face.*

: *Hack hack cough* Do you really think that was enough...

*Homura's body shakes and she returns to normal. She then looks around and, for some reason, pulls a kotatsu onto the arena floor.*

: What is this tomfoolery? Cease it at once!

: It's the silly gas that Nobuna filled it with! Now she'll make a dumb joke!

: I think that having that gun is already some sort of odd joke.

*Homura climbs inside the kotatsu, her fundoshi butt still showing from behind. She holds out her six blades in a particular fashion in front.*

: Hermit crab!

=In the stands=

: Hmm, so that's why Yamato likes Hermit crabs so much *takes notes*.. ufufu.

=Returning back=

: WHAT DID I JUST SAY?

*Homura returns to normal*

: Hmm, my head sure hurts. I didn't do any-thing...?

*Everyone is laughing at Homura's silly joke.*

: SO EMBARRASSING!

*She runs off, sending the kotatsu flying. Aldra clicks her tongue at another win for Topaz.*

: Well, you've made another girl run away crying. Is this the type of guy you are?

: I find it nice how he's eliminating your Shadow Triad peacefully. Mostly.

: Heh, peace. Like that will prove anything! That's like saying I become a housewife, totally ridiculous!

But wait...

: TOTALLY RIDICULOUS! And how dare you interrupt me! Don't think you've won yet, you still have to defeat Kaede!

: I'm pretty strong, perhaps the strongest of the three.

But that will have to wait until next time, because-

???: WAIT!

*Akatsuki appears on the side and walks up.*

: I'll prove myself useful to you, Topaz.

: You'd better not do what I think you're about to!

: I'm a lolihag and really 2X years old!

*Topaz's body glows.*

: (Th-the demon's power? No, it's different.)

: Topaz is leveling up!

: I wasn't sure how to use my age in such a way, but I'm glad that it's useful to someone.

*Topaz goes up a level and gains 5 Defense, 10 Hit Points, and a Summon. He also returns to full HP.*

: We can't have you face Kaede and then Aldra already injured.

: That's good to hear, as I'll be going all out!

*Kaede flicks her cape and pulls out a shuriken that's as big as she is.*
