Anime Relations:
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
I don't list dropped animes (which I disliked/felt uncomfortable with).
As for manga, I dedicate 5 points to art, 3 points to plot and 2 to enjoyment/addiction.
I will watch all OVA attached to a series that I enjoyed. If I do not enjoy a series, I do not bother with the OVA (usually, unless I just need to know if it can redeem itself, ha).
My rating criteria:
Art style - definitely impacts my rating
Story/plot - critical point. I can't watch anime with a lackluster plot. Nor can I abide anime that use shock tactics just for the sake of it.
Characters - how likable and relatable the characters are, particularly the protagonist(s). Also, I like to see character development and I like to see the purpose of each character in the plot.
Addiction factor - whether I'm itching to start a new episode or whether I'm perfectly bored and uninterested.
Audio - the quality of voice actors and music
Genre-specific - is the comedy tasteful and not bizarre? And if it's action, is the violence/gore enough but not over-the top?
Emotional factor - do I feel moved by the good and bad things that happen to each character? Do I stop and think after the series is over? And is my life changed after the anime? If an anime hits the spot with this factor, it stands a good chance at a very high score.
10 - Memorable, made me laugh/cry. Perfection. I am a fangirl over this anime.
9 - Loved it. It fell just short of a masterpiece and was missing "something". These anime may still fall into my list of favourite anime.
8 - Very good. Would recommend this anime. If there were flaws, my enjoyment far overshadowed them.
7 - Enjoyed it but it did not leave a much of an impression. Or I really didn't enjoy one or two characters but overall was satisfied. Sometimes reserved for anime I loved but then they ended poorly or disappointed me in some way.
6 - Mixed feelings about this anime. More positive than negative, however.
5 - Just...average. Meh. I can't give a comment. Underwhelming.
4 - Disappointing. If anime are bad but still funny they will usually fall here.
3 - Bleh, not great. Don't watch.
2 - I wasted my time watching this.
1 - Burn it. Burn it now.
