This is the Two-hundred-and-sixty-ninth week of using the "Perfect Anime Girl Sheet". Notice: This Blog may contain Unmarked Spoilers.

*The blog begins with Ririchiyo and Topaz fighting off a horde of idol-fans. Luckily they're able to stop them without hurting them too much, but the fans just keep coming.*

Fans (in unison): Kill Topaz! Kill Topaz!

*Riri sends them flying with a slash from her scythe.*

Riri: Don't worry, Topaz. I'll stop this at the source! *flies off*

*As Riri searches to turn off the radio, the idol fans surround Topaz.*

I figured this would happen, but luckily you don't know about my summoning power!

*Topaz attempts to summon, though something unusual happens.*

Wait, is this silly music blocking my summons as well? That's certainly inconvenient! Luckily I still have some sort of defense, thanks Hinako!

*Topaz takes out the baseball bat and swings it at the idol fans. Even though they don't get hit they still go flying as if damaged.*

Hmmm, I guess that DOES take care of them. Plus it sounds like Riri has stopped the radio as well. We should probably get going on the bl-

*Suddenly a strong-looking man pops out from behind Topaz.*

Man: Kill Topaz!

*Just as the man bears down, he gets kicked in the face by a meganekko with a red sword. The man goes rolling across the street in a comedic fashion.*

Phew, thanks for that. Especially because there wasn't any blood spilled.

Meganekko: Well, I guess there was-urp-my own...

Hey, I know who you are!

*Ririchiyo enters some time later.*

Riri: Man, you'd never know where I found that... radio...

*The scene that Riri returns to is Topaz patting the thick, red glasses of the meganekko. She is no longer wielding her sword and is generally looking unappeased.*

Riri: *puts on her own glasses* And what's the meaning of THIS?

Oooo! Now I have TWO meganekkos to pat!

Meganekko: How unpleasant...

Riri: I don't get why you're petting OTHER girls, slave! Stop it this minute!

*Topaz whimpers but stops and kneels in front of Riri.*

Riri: Now that I have your attention, who is this girl?

The blog character of the day.

Riri: ...I figured, but I need more information!

Well then, you're in luck because...



Mirai: Speaking of blogs, I'm going to go complain on mine about getting talked about without my permission!

Well then, may I have your permission?

Mirai: I GUESS, but I'm still going to complain. *types into a phone.*

Head
Hair: Mirai has a short bob cut. Or maybe a medium one, considering her hair almost reaches her shoulders (for a bob cut that's a bit unusual). There's also a bit of an inward curl at the bottom as well. Technically Mirai's hair is called PINK, but I disbelieve that. It's more tan or light brown than pink!
Grade: B-

Eyes: At least the creators got her eye color correct though! They call it brown and indeed it is brown! A more specific word would be "amber", but that's still probably brown-ish. As far as eye shape goes, if you've seen any of KyoAni's shows in recent years you'll probably know what Mirai's eyes look like. Specifically the common tarame look (the tsurime is reserved for girls like Mitsuki). A bit dull, but Mirai DOES have one good advantage.
That advantage is, as you can clearly see on her face, is that she wears glasses. She wears a lovely red thick-framed pair that looks great! Though I will say that she needs to push them up, I have a pet peeve of when it looks like the girl can see over the upper edge of the glasses. Due to plot reasons she also eventually wears a black pair, but her original red pair is kept by the lead. He even returns them to her at the end, hopefully without huffing them. Oh, before I forget, the male lead Akihito is a MAJOR meganekko lover like yours truly. He's awesome, though I'm probably biased.
One final thing is that Mirai DOES take her glasses off on occasion. You see, she has a tic that, when nervous, she cleans her glasses in order to distract herself. I find it really cute, especially when she does it in the shower (where she wasn't wearing them in the first place). The idol judges don't have an excuse though, they killed off Mirai's glasses because Akihito is a pervert with them; while I can sort of see the punishment it seems a big one for Mirai as well! I guess it's lucky that she gets them back for the next episode but the less I say about that part of the series the better.
Grade: A

Face: As I said before, Kyoukai no Kanata is made by KyoAni and, as you can imagine, they use their basic "moe face" for Mirai. Her costars don't all have the same problem, but Mirai isn't as lucky. Anyway, enough slamming them, I'll describe it a bit more in detail. Mirai's face is acorn-shaped with somewhat plump cheeks but a sharp-looking chin. She does have small features though, especially her nose. Though you can still sense where it is due to her glasses sitting on it. Overall not too bad and it does appeal to me, but not really that memorable at the same time.
Grade: B

Mirai: You're a perverted glasses lover as well? How unpleasant!

Hey, at least I don't steal glasses off high school girls to wrap them in plastic and smell them afterward!

Riri: ... Yet. And that's only because you're afraid of getting caught.

*Topaz coughs*

Mirai: At least he doesn't call himself "Meganest" like Akihito does.

I wouldn't stand for such a simple title! I'm made of PURE MEGANE-NIUM!

Riri: Isn't that one of those Pokémon you keep talking about?

Mirai: If I remember right that's like the worst starter too...

You obviously haven't been on the receiving end of a Choice Specs Leaf Storm-HAHAHA. I knew I couldn't make it through that without laughing.

*Mirai types on her phone.*

HEY! I wasn't serious about that!

Mirai: And... Sent. Now the internet will know of your poor team choices.

Noooooo! *sigh* Well, enough of that, let's get on with the blog.

Body
Build: Mirai's official height is 152 cm, making her a fairly short girl overall. As a reference, Akihito is 171 cm tall meaning she's almost 20 cm shorter than her love She's also pretty slender and isn't all that shapely either. Okay, so her waist is a bit shapely (as is her bare stomach) but we don't see it all that much. Her legs and arms are also somewhat shapely but I don't know how much we see them either (even with the bottom of her outfit being so nice, see below). About the only fanservice we get out of Mirai, other than her clothing, is that she shows her butt a bit in the shower one episode. It's not a great shot (the bottom half is cut off) and her butt isn't that great, but it's still more than I expected from KyoAni.
Mirai's ability is to control blood and while I'll explain it further in a bit I'll discuss her "cuts". You see, Mirai has a cut in either her right hand (in the anime) or right forearm (in the light novel) to use her blood as a weapon. I'm not a big fan of open wounds, but considering this is her ability I can't say too much about this. It's also possible that as a result of this she's anemic, but I think that's just because she was using too much of her power (and then she goes right back to using the SAME ability! Genius!).
Grade: C

Breasts: Mirai is the flattest girl in the series. Even Ai, the pretty much token loli, has hidden melons according to her. She's also a bit self-conscious of it, making it worse.
Grade: D

Clothes: Mirai has a surprisingly wide variety of outfits. First, her main one is her school uniform. It consists of a loose pink cardigan over a blue sailor suit with white collar and blue ribbon. Occasionally she wears a pink vest over a long-sleeved white shirt as well. On the bottom is a short blue skirt and, the heavenly outfit itself, PANTYHOSE! Or at least tights, whatever leg coverings she's wearing certainly work well. Unfortunately she gets told to take them off during once scene so boo the lead for that as well as all the times they get cut in battle. Pantyhose should be sacred, after all! Also her wound on her right arm/hand is heavily bandaged so she uses the cardigan to cover it up. She also uses a ring as a power limiter which she takes off (it's not the kind of ring like in Titan that actually wounds her, though).
Anyway, getting to the other outfits Mirai wears. She wears a one-piece blue swimsuit in the school pool but sadly it isn't a sukumizu (which would fit her body form quite well, though the one-piece still fits fine). Another good outfit that fits her body is that she wears a kimono at the festival. She's also worn a blue track suit though sadly she just uses it as a substitute school uniform after her proper one becomes smelly due to a youkai. In the same episode she also puts on an idol outfit, revealing her stomach and shoulders and giving me a good idea of what her body looks like. In addition, she wears various outfits for her spare job of having pictures taken of her (and which are implied to be bought by Akihito). Some of these outfits include a pair of cute pink pajamas and two different maid outfits; she wears the classic black and a nifty light blue that makes me think of the housewives in old TV shows. She also has a few elegant dresses in official art. Overall, pantyhose and maids are awesome (though sadly she doesn't wear both at the same time) and while not anything amazing her school uniform isn't THAT terrible (I like shy girls in cardigans). The only thing I think they could have done is to have Mirai wear a scarf.
Grade: A-

Mirai: How unpleasant...

Riri: I know right, he's a major maniac!

Mirai: Not about the clothing, though he is a pervert there. I meant more because he didn't like my chest.

Well, I don't dislike flat chests as much as I used to but the blog's scoring has to remain constant. Even then though, your flat chest isn't especially impressive. Unlike Riri's.

Riri: That's right an-EXCUSE me?

Well think of it this way, you're my favorite girl in your series despite there being a busty perverted meganekko and a quiet KanaHana girl with a medium rack.

Riri: I thought that was more because Nobara-

*Even before Ririchiyo mentions it, Topaz glooms off in a corner.*

Riri: ACK! S-sorry Topaz, I forgot what happened...

Mirai: Why, what happened?

Riri: Unkind things to Topaz, is all. *turns to Topaz and pats him on the back.* Come on, we still have to continue the blog!

That's true, no reason to make Mirai pay for another meganekko's problems. Luckily I seem to be thick skinned too!

Riri: I think that's just in your head.

Possibly... Wait, did you just call me dense.

*Riri and Mirai synchronize their glasses adjusting.*

Wow! Fantastic! How distracting!

Mirai: ...Can we just get on with the blog now?

Mind
Personality: Mirai has a lot of stereotypical "meganekko" features. She's clumsy and a bit absent minded. She's pretty awkward around people but slowly warms up to her friends (especially Akihito). She also works hard to earn her own money but still barely eats from her money. Either she eats little or out of another person's wallet (and the latter proves how much she can eat as well). Instead she uses her money to purchase and maintain bonsai trees. She even has a blog online talking about them! Imagine the kind of person whose entire life is basically blogging about something online-oh...
Anyway, we'll discuss Mirai's ability and a bit of her history next. As said before Mirai has the ability to use her own blood. This is called "hemokinesis" which is a cool word so I was able to remember it xD. She usually only makes a sword out of it as that's probably less taxing on her body, but she does have a few attacks involving her corrosive blood in general. I just would have liked to see it have more abilities other than a glorified weapon sheathe most of the time. This ability was also passed down through a cursed clan so Mirai is the last one to be able to use her blood in this way. She gets convinced to join with a group of youkai hunters. She's not very good at it though as she's scared of hurting the youkai at first. She gets over this by stabbing Akihito all the time. He's immortal but it still hurts. It's possible that she got this way before the series starts as well because she kills her best friend when she became possessed by a powerful youkai. Unfortunately this also leads to her family disowning her (as the girl she killed was their daughter as well) and her getting adopted by another family.
Overall Mirai isn't a terrible girl and has a sad backstory but she's also not that interesting either. At least for me, I guess. I do like how she has an interesting money dump, usually meganekkos are that way due to either reading books or are into anime/manga so it's interesting to see her take interest in an activity you don't see many young girls doing. Her voice actress, Risa Taneda, isn't known that well by me but she did give Mirai a cute, light voice without making it get too squeaky. Also, while Risa has a fine singing voice Mirai originally did NOT, making for both an amusing joke and facial expression from another character.
Grade: B-

Libido: Mirai's catch phrase is to call people or situations she's uncomfortable with as "unpleasant". This extend to perverted situations as well. However, she is not only the main love interest but also WINS which is always a plus for meganekko kind. Not only that, but as said before Akihito is a glasses-obsessed guy and that's awesome as I know he'd never stand for Mirai NOT wearing glasses too! Due to plot she even sacrifices herself for her safety (though she does return in the epilogue) and I suppose she is a bit reluctant in admitting her feelings. There's a bit of leeway with that though, considering why she came to this school in the first place.
Grade: B

Age: Mirai seems to be 16 and is a first year in high school. Unfortunately for me, Akihito is a second year and is even seventeen (I prefer when the male is younger) but it's not a heavy issue. Mirai's birthday also seems to be March 31st.

Mirai: How unpleasant..

You know, just because you don't like something doesn't mean that it's "unpleasant". Well, I mean it IS but that doesn't mean you can use that excuse every time.

Riri: So what's the problem now?

Mirai: I dislike that low score, I was hoping that my amazing glasses antics would be enough to raise me higher.

They certainly did help, as did your pantyhose. But sadly the rest of you didn't really match up.

Mirai: Harumph. I'll get my followers to spam your inbox full of angry letters! *types on her phone furiously.*

Maybe if your body was better or your hair was long and black. Having a voice actress I'm more familiar with would have helped as well. *nods to self.*

Mirai: ...So like Mitsuki then? Figures.

Right, though Mitsuki also has her flaws. Obviously a lack of glasses is a major one, as is her personality at times... But don't worry, I do still like you.

Mirai: I see then... But I've already told my followers to send you messages.

Well then, just let me use this visor. *Attaches a visor to his right ear.* What? 1006 messages already?!? And why do the letters look so funny?

Riri: You have the visor on the wrong ear.

Oh *moves it.* I see now, it's over 9000. Very funny... *crushes visor weakly*

Mirai: Sorry about all the trolls.

No worries, I'll put all that work on someone else. In fact, as my assistant that's something you'll have to do then, Riri.

Riri: *sigh* I suppose it's better than what Chiaki has to deal with, I guess...

I suppose that's true. But on that note I think it's about time to call this week's blog. See you next week when I discuss my favorite meganekko I experienced in 2013 but didn't come from that year!

Riri: I do wonder what Chiaki's big friend is up to now...
