Katja’s hair changes color from manga and anime. Anime Katja has light brown hair while Manga Katja is blonde, as in has yellow hair. Either way she has a really unique and distinctive hairstyle, well, not exactly unique since it’s basically twintails, but she keeps them inside those really long and black hair accessories thingamajigs that look really cute and make the bottom part of her hair that sticks our of them puffy. She also has two black ribbons for the twintails and has a black frilly bonnet thing. At the time of the second anime season she changes it into a wackier version where she has some quite weird puffy donut twintails on top and the bottom of the black thingamajigs is drill hair and looks longer, and she changed the bonnet for a black hairband with a black rose. Fine, I know my description sucks, but it’s a really weird hairstyle! Anyway it looks adorable, and no doubt both of her hairstyles help boost her popularity both in-series and outside of it! That said it deserves a small boo because the first series used her long hair to justify having her chest and butt covered, but in the hot springs episode that was the fanservice-focused episode of a fanservice-focused series. Shows how much the studio hated her during the first season. Her hair is great anyway!

Katja’s eyes are blue. The color is slightly different from manga and anime, with the former skirting on green while the latter is more unarguably blue. That said, it’s not as bad as other cases. First, unlike other series, coughqueensbladecough, Qwaser doesn’t spam blue eyes on most of its female cast, so it’s clearly something Katja got for being her. Second, a Russian girl having blonde-ish hair and blue eyes actually makes some sense, unlike the many odd blonde and blue-eyed Japanese girls who have them for the hell of it, like Sena. And third, it’s pretty clear they’re meant to emphasize the doll-like nature of her design, thus making them more acceptable. The shape itself is nice as well, they seem a bit round but have a nice slanted edge that implies her sharp dommy nature. She also half-closes them when being sadist, which is sexy. Sadly she has never worn glasses as far I know, but she does have the yellow mask she wears as a superheroine. It’s kinda cute but not as good as thick glasses. Still, is more than Supes wears!

Really good for my tastes. She lacks a weight, but Queen’s Gate lists her as 145 cm tall, which is right in my ideal range! In Queen’s Gate she has three sizes in: 65/45/70. Not too terrible for a girl her age, and hey, her hips are still bigger than her chest! Still, one needs to see the series to fully appreciate her, as both the manga and anime, especially the latter, make all of the women look curvaceous and despite being a loli Katja is no exception, which means she has fairly erotic thighs and her waist is not overly thin but still beautiful. Her chest is still flat however, but just the ideal amount for my standards, making her even more beautiful. Her nipples are small as well. When she shows her feet they are very beautiful. We even see her genitals in the manga, not that anyone cares except the TLR authors. Overall her body looks amazing, but it feels like she’s missing “something” to be ideal.

Some scenes and official manga images give her other various gothloli dresses, either white or black or a mix or both, but all really cute and adorable. Besides that there is the school swimsuit she wears in the OVA and also a figure, the latter also having her thighhighs and being in regular and white versions. On a memorable episode she wears a white leotard with matching gloves and red thigh-high boots! Of course she’s also depicted in dominatrix gear but only in the DVD specials, in red and black variations; whip aside she does look nice. There are other costumes as well, less noteworthy. She also wears sexy underwear, which fits her. Overall Katja looks like a doll and wears a lot of my clothing, very sexy!

Personality
Katja is the ultimate sadist. I’m aware this is more of a libido thing, but it defines her personality so I must start with that. As a quick summary Katja is the Qwaser of Copper and that means she can manipulate copper if she drinks soma, which is holy milk the Maria produce. Yes, she suckles girls for a MP refill. It’s a good show, stop being so judgmental and go bash TLR Darkness instead. Her job is mostly helping main guy Sasha and sasha-ving his bacon several times, tho the anime downplays her a bit. She comes with a gynoid-esque companion named Anastasia which she calls “mama” for some reason. It’s basically a red feminine robot she uses mainly to fight for her just like a Stand, yare yare da ze. She can defend herself off if needed mind you, but she prefers using Anastasia for obvious reasons. Her usual Maria is Hana, a bully who is secretly a lesbian loli-loving masochist and thus is super-lucky for finding a girl like Katja. That goes on libido so I won’t go in detail, but their relationship is cute. Sadly they split for a while due to plot reasons: training with different Marias in the manga and pixie dust in the anime. She still abuses her new Maria Mafuyu mind you, only not as much because she doesn’t have Hana’s great tastes, ahem. She even gets herself a small harem in the second season, because few people can resist being abused by Katja.
As a personality, it’s the ideal personality you expect from her. She has a deceptive façade of sweetness and innocence which she uses normally, but then she reveals her powerful sadistic nature. It’s very impacting and awesome, which is part of why the fans love her so much; if only the doujinshi were good. Sadly the anime was kinda unfair to her, leaving her aside from many fanservice scenes, downplaying at times her battle prowess, making her the culprit of the anime-only awful part where Sasha thinks he’s a girl in a guy’s body and focusing her sadism scenes more on Hana, because who likes girls in charge you know. Even in the OVA she didn’t get that much focus and it was touted as an episode about her! The only saving grace is the DVD specials, as half of the S1 ones are her abusing the viewer and proving they got the idea. Yep, just unlike Xebecrap with MM! Sadly keeping the good work is hard, so sadly the one time the S2 specials do that is dull and bland, but anyway. Long short story Katja is pretty much the perfect sadistic girl, which I love!

Besides the obvious about her being a great sadist I should mention the author for once has an idea of how to portray SM relationships, which means less whipping and more trusting than the usual fare. Katja at one point even scolds two openly masochistic girls because REAL masochists don’t show openly their pleasure, while unlikely it’d be hilarious if this was a jab at the main from MM! In any case Katja abuses Hana fairly often and in various imaginative and sensual ways, showing the unusual yet devoted nature of their relationship. Even when they end separated Katja still loves Hana, but she won’t admit it directly because she’s like that. Her various DVD specials also play her sadism up very well; sadly near the end they were dumb enough to have the viewer take it at Katja, but it didn’t last long and it was simply because “you” didn’t want her to leave, so it ends with her abusing the viewer again. Considering how rare dommy girls are, finding one this good deserves praise!
