Apple awed the world with its previous successes and when it released iCloud to the market, the public embraced it, too, with arms wide open. So what makes it so beneficial for businesses?

iCloud lives up to the expectation of the public, being so user-friendly and so powerful, like all of Apple's past products. Microsoft has one similar product before, the SkyDrive. Google Android and SkyDrive are similar in so many ways and one of these is the fact that they are so business-friendly to the point of becoming inclusive already, but iCloud is different since it maintains the 'barbed-wire fence' approach Apple Apps are recognized for.

Following typical technology trends, both iCloud and SkyDrive are designed to be rapidly adopted by virtue of the wide compatibility of product ranges, from Apple's iPhone integration to the cross-platform flexibility of Microsoft's sprawling business and consumer product range. To this level, according to a 2010 IBM survey, thanks to the success of iPhones, iPads, Windows Phone 7 and Google's Android operating system, cloud computing is on the cusp of mainstream domination. Now that mobile cloud computing is popular as ever, more and more people came to appreciate its advantages and simplicity.

Now, active people can share and access data even if they're on the go, making it more convenient and cost-effective to be productive even if you're not at home or in your office. Easy data manipulation via mobile devices will also permit businesses to respond rapidly to customer demands. And since businesses may now remove some IT requirements, they are also reducing the cost they have to spend to have a smooth running business. And since everything is mobile, anybody can use cloud computing from just everywhere.

It has some drawbacks, too, of course. There's the matter of security. It's very risky to store sensitive data off-premises. Since mobile device can easily be stolen or lost, business people are having a second thought on performing mobile cloud computing. What security measures Apple has to come up with is still one thing that we still have to know but if ever the problem is dealt with, it is envisioned that cloud services will become so prominent in the world of IT in the years to come.

With the release of iCloud in the market, cloud computing is predicted to catch the awareness and curiosity of more consumers. The persistent drive for mobile innovation, alongside the launch of Google's ChromeBook, will further stress the clouds importance for business. Now that the competition is hard, businesses must learn to adapt for them to survive. With the release of all these cloud services, IT was definitely made mobile. Businesses that are fortunate enough to fully understand its strengths will surely lead the competition.
