Both have a tournament style of mech-fighting, with a cocky pilot as the main character who yells the names of his attacks The mech they each use both have a special attack where the hands of their robot start to glow as well as other parts of their body

Battling robot tournaments with shoutouts to other series? Yes please. Beginning G is much more blatantly an advertisement, and is much shorter than Zero, but similar in many ways.

Both feature giant robots in a tournament-style competition.

Both series are interesting twists on robot toy competition shows, the twist is that they're awesome. They both rely on good writing and humor, along with just enough Super robot-esque glowing and attack yelling to be considerably badass. The soundtracks are kind of similar too.

You put Zoids (any Zoids series) and Gundam Seed together, and you get Gin-iro no Olynsis.

Blonde Haired Boy hasn't amounted to anything, he then finds an old Mech and proves that this Mech is better than the others.
