Both series share some key themes: supernatural abilities determined by one's deepest wishes, the concept of soul, similar "food chain" theme of superhuman creatures and a character who can stop time.

Over the top violence. Buff men punching bad guys at lightning speeds. Super dramatic poses!

Both are action anime with lot of violence and strong characters fighting against enemies. Both are OVA. Abashiri Ikka is more comedy while JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is more fantasy.

Althrough different in genres, both are about group of people with supernatural powers travelling to Egypt and fighting enemies with supernatural powers there. Both have battles in desert and a dog who sides with the good guys. In both, people have powers that represent something (fighting spirit in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and food in Sore Ike! Anpanman). While JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is horror, Sore Ike! Anpanman: Niji no Pyramid is for kids.

Both are old-school OVA. Both have main character that fights agains some sort of evil. Both main characters have som sort of alter ego, but while in Baoh Raihousha the main character changes into it, in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure main character summons it. Both have similar old animation and are violent, even gory. Both are based on manga by same mangaka.

As over the top JoJo's has always been, Baki is stereotypical JoJo's x10... except for the fact that JoJo's got better with every season. Early JoJo's at it's core was cartoonishly muscular and masculine men fighting in the most absurd scenarios. Over the top moments meant to shock and confuse the viewer over having any actual substance of a plot... and that is what made it so special. Similar to Baki, which makes it no secret that the "plot" is just an excuse for the buff superhumans to beat each other like crazy. So why should you watch JoJo's if Baki is more JoJo's than JoJo's?  read more

Similar in animation style as well as levels of violence. Both are lighter on plot, in Jojo's case this is due to storyline compression where with Genocyber the plot is thin to begin with. However, they are both enjoyable in their own ways

If you've watched this rather odd JoJo's OVA maybe you'll remember fondly the third episode, the "battle" against Dabby, which didn't involve any battle and was purely gamble, cheats and mind games, just so happens that all that is what the Kaiji series is all about, if you've liked that episode chances are that you'll like Kaiji for all the same reasons. Not many other similarities between the two, maybe that both have a thing for suspense moments or that JoJo's battles also have a knack for being more than just punch battles and the characters have to use their heads, but that's all.

Two extremely well done ova's of jump series that focus on a certain section of their stories. The jojo's bizarre adventure ova focuses on the Egypt arc of stardust crusaders, while the rurouni kenshin ova focuses on the Remembrance Arc from the manga. Both have a more darker tone on the story and both have fantastic animation and directing. Neither are direct one to one adaptations which might drive off some people but I guarantee that both are must watch if you enjoy either of these series.

Both are supernatural action horrors featuring a vampire. Both have lot of violence and fighting scenes. Both have old animation and were later remade with new animation. While in Hellsing the vampire is main character, in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure the main character is fighting against vampire.

The content and developments of these series are completely different, but the feel they get across is quite similar. Lots of over the top screaming and action so ridiculous that there's no medium outside of anime that could get away with it

Both are old-school OVA based on Shonen Jump manga from the 1980's. Both anime were made around the same period, and have similar animation. They also have a lot of over the top violent action. Both JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Bastard!! have characters and attacks that are references to popular music bands and popular music artists.

Shadows and Stands are very similar. But everything else are pretty different. Jojo's have a lot of blood and tense feelings, Blue Dragon is more childish and funny.

Well, basically all of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime seasons. Both anime has "super" abilities. Both anime has op main character that will never lose. Both main character are badass.

It has similar drawing style and bloody battles.

Both are adaptations of some of the most influential action shounen manga, complete with bloody supernatural battles and the classic "90s anime OVA" look. Both also have kinda goofy English dubs.

Although Jojo's Adventure is more violent and badass, Baki goes far as well as '90s anime is concerned in the martial arts way! and lots of men are fighting here!

Both are action shounen anime where strong characters are fighting against enemies. Both have old animation. While Dragon Ball is more comedy, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is more violent.
