Tales of Symphonia The Animation: Tethe'alla-hen

Ufotable produced shows adapting different formats (TOS for video game and KnY for manga) revolve around the sword wielding male protagonist whose goal is to save the female lead who he cherishes dearly by venturing on a quest very dangerous enough to stand in their way through countless monsters and warriors. The two must be able to overcome them sheer enough with strong companions whom they make friends and allies along the way. The two series were known to be stellar enough to get an anime adaptation long before they got popular as an adapted shows capable enough to garner attention from fans alike who grew up with the series. read more 

They're both pretty good shonens and have too some sad parts, that's the genre I really like. 

Both are passable adaptations of fantastic RPG's. Though they did a better job overall with Symphonia.
