The art is strikingly similar. Young Okajima Taeko's face of Only Yesterday looks a lot like Aoki Shinko's (of Mai Mai Miracle) face.

Mai Mai Shinko to Sennen no Mahou and Non non biyori are great anime with a countryside setting and a great group of friends that Experience adventures together. For my opinion both of these anime are great to watch with your family and they also kid friendly to watch.

These two movies build upon the country side people and their environment. Both movies about childhood memories.

Both of these films are set in the countryside of Japan and portrays the imaginative world of their characters. They present the quite life of two sisters around the same age. They have the same peaceful atmosphere and the focus on the beauty of nature. There is also a very similar scene in these two movies during the sunsets. They are both suitable for kids.

Two summer stories about the life of a child/children in the Japanese countryside. Both with small supernatural twists, but very light hearted.
