Hells

Unique animation styles, crazy over-the-top schools, family "disputes," and symbolism. They have similar feelings from all of the above things despite Kill la Kill being a full length anime and Hells being just a movie. While the symbolism differs for the most part, there are some symbols that are used in both (but saying what they are would be a spoiler). The characters and their interactions are also similar. Friendship, enemies, and family are large aspects of both KLK and Hells. 

Both having trippy and edgy artstyles as well as animation,quirky characters and also a unusual school setting as well too. 

What if you throw Kill La Kill into an Angel Beats setting and make a movie outta it? Basically that's 'Hells'. A seemingly week female protagonist gets rolled into a bizarre school,meets weird new people and soon things start to go batshit crazy.Unexpected twists alongside bizarre plot and action while little by little the cute protagonist keeps pushing her limit and eventually grows strong enough to throw everything off the balance while dealing with family issues - just too much similarity between these two anime. Besides the animation is also pretty similar and overall radiates the crazy goofy 'energy'- makes you feel like watching typical Imaishi Hiroyuki masterclass.  read more 

Both Hells Angels and Kill La Kill are crazy and fast paced and full of action and fights. If non-stop is your motto, both of these shows are shows you should check out. If the unusual is something you seek out, again, both of these shows hit the mark. If high octane high energy pacing is your style, then these shows are made for you. If weird and zany are positive attributes in your book, then definitely, these two anime are made for you! 

Madness of unusual plot, atypical artstyle and eyecandy animation. 

Both are trippy edgy stuff in story as well as art and also unusual animation as well too. 

Hells is similar to Dead Leaves in the sense of humor although Hells is not as overtly raunchy as Dead Leaves. The character designs of both series are very stylistic and expressive. If you liked Dead Leaves, you'll probably like Hells. 

Both are focused on teenaged mcs who have died, and are placed in a afterlife setting with a school in it with alot of antics. 

Hells and Angel Beats are two anime that follow teenagers who have died and are now stuck in a strange afterlife high school. Angel Beats has a far more typical anime art style than Hells's literal sketchniess, but the comedy is often wacky and real shit that threatens everybody goes down in ways no one could have expected from the start. You might find yourself surprisingly touched by the interactions between a main character who is willing to have faith for other people and a mysteriously quiet yet very powerful character as well. 

Hells and Space Patrol Luluco are probably the some of the most wackiest, artsy experimental short rides you might ever see in anime. The art style, comedy, and even tone shifts are absolutely ridiculous in a way that'll leave you curious and not want to take your eyes off the screen just to see where it all goes. It's kinda hammered in by the end, but a message you might not expect to see coming out of these anime (if it weren't for the MC anyway lol) at first are pretty potent and might inspire some hope in you. 

Upbeat protagonist with similar tone, art style, and comedy. There's another similarity that I don't want to spoil. 

Hells and Yu-Gi-Oh S0 probably make for a strange comparison aside from their somewhat inconsistent-looking (throughout the runtime anyway) yet distinct and colorful art styles and character designs. But you may soon find that both will make you feel things for a pair of characters who seem to get pushed over and literally beat up by their high school peers, and get excited for the tests and some games that the characters will have to face. Basically, both underrated anime gems will make you miss (or wish) having friends. 

Hells and Angel's Egg are some strange obscure anime movies. The art and animation styles are a bit unusual and sketch-like for most anime, the kind of tone and pacing are complete opposites from each other but are still not what you see in most anime, and there are even biblical references out of nowhere alongside sharing some random thoughts about people and the world. Do they mean to say anything meaningul? Who knows... try broadening your horizons with either of them anyway lol. 

It really doesn't seem like it at first (or even while you watch either anime), but both Hells and Puella Magi Madoka Magica are about hope. Sure, there's a lot of crazy cool artsy experimental styles that will be a feast for your eyes, and with some visual reminders that the world has plenty of suffering to offer, they are probably far from the most wholesome anime you will ever see. But the main character and her convictions will probably inspire you into believing there is hope and that there is something you can do. 

Hells and The World Ends With You The Animation have some pretty cool art styles that you really don't get to see that often in anime. But both of these anime are a bit more similar than just that—cool insert/theme songs, characters going through trials and tribulations to escape their probably literal hellish situations, a world where imagination is power, some insane plot twists here and there... if you want to go for something less mainstream, maybe try either of these? 

Both are trippy af lots of high energy series that have unusual world settings to them with a quirky cast and lots of stylish action and visuals and animation in them as well too.  

Great storyboard that makes it so something is constantly written on screen, atypical style of animation, action and characters modeled after Elvis.
