Both are new awesome soccer animes that aired in 2022, and they both have lots of hype and nail-biting moments.

If you have seen Haikyuu and decide to watch Ao Hashi it feels like it's a different story told by same people (studio). Or vice versa. Which is pretty cool! - Both are sports anime made by the same studio - The importance of number 10 player is still going strong - Main characters (Hinata / Ashito) are both hardworking energetic people, but of course they have their differences as well. - Both series feature crows as a symbol.

Both series are similar in having : • Countryside MC playing & loving his favorite sport : Baseball for Diamond, Soccer for Ao. • Great teammate spirit, keeping his love for the sport and minding his mates. • Having to leave country to go in Tokyo to play at an higher level • MC have similar temperament, noisy, overjoyed, positive mind

both series play football as a sport. Takumi and Fukuda has same characteristic and they a good coach. both series setting around professional club. both talk about J-league.

- Both series manage to tell about the competitive sports (Tennis / Soccer) in a realistic way. - Main characters have talent but they have to work hard in order to get better - One of the rare cases in sports series where potential love interest has impact on the story If you like Aoashi or Baby Steps for these reasons there's a high chance you could check out both.

Soccer anime that follow the growth of the MC in both, character-development and skill in the sport

I saw the another guy recommending HxH after Ao Ashi, and I just wanted to add a bit more to his comment. While HxH isn't a sports anime, the creator Togashi also created Yu Yu Hakusho. Many characters in Ao Ashi resemble Togashi's characters from YYH and HxH. For example, Togashi in Ao Ashi looks like Kuwabara from YYH, Takeshima looks like Yusuke, Asari like Kurapica, etc. Reading the manga, you can see even more resemblances. The themes of these two shows overlap--connecting and understanding others is the key to one's success (aka, the real prize is the friends we made along the way).

Both football in highschool and they both have a big goal (the goal in inazuma eleven is bigger)

The mc are both really similar, the plot of the mc are also both similar. From weak to strong. Aoashi has more basics of soccer while Inazuma Eleven Go has more basics of how to use your avatars and their own competition.

The stories revolve around a male team/group and their journey to reach a professional level in their respective fields, both characters have dramatic stories behind them. And in both series there is an adult figure for the teams that serves as a guide for them and how they should make a space for themselves in music/sport

Similar to Ao Ashi, Sora Kumumatani from Ahiru no Sora wants to compete in the big leagues. Sora has always wanted to play competitive basketball. However, his short height kept him from fulfilling his dream.

Ao Ashi and Days are obviously soccer anime, but uses different tropes for their main character. Tsukushi (Days) is the untalented player who works hard to find a way to contribute to the team. Ashito (Ao Ashi) is the talented egocentric player who must overcome the challenges from playing in a new team and against strong opponents. Sports anime are very formulaic, but we still watch them for the excitement. Days is not the most interesting sports anime and Ao Ashi is not the most original sports anime, but you can still enjoy watching them for the soccer.

Slam Dunk and Ao Ashi does not contain superpowers and just focuses on tactics and other elements that their sports has. Very good characters, contains good humour, wholesome and inspiring, cool and unique art style. Mc's has a specific ability/position where they truly shines or good at and they get to know that with the help of their coaches and senpais. And they're excellent players.

Both are great sports anime where the MC is really good from their town/area/locality but when they step into the big stage they realize how skilled all the other players/competitors are. Although Megalobox can be a bit darker sometimes, both of them are pretty logical and well made shows

Ao Ashi follows the MC through situations that help him grow / develop both, as an athlete & in his character. Both anime are good for anyone that enjoys watching an athlete-MC go through deep character development by overcoming difficult situations related to the sport. Ao Ashi follows Ashito through his first journey of growth after goijg through failures that come after his previous success, and watching Ashito go from relying too heavily on talent -> necessary training to hone his skills. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Run with the Wind) goes a level deeper by following MCs at a university, who have already gone through  read more

Wholesome relationship between a mother and son. That's what first struck me - that in terms of touching moments (wholesomeness) these series are very similar. Additionally, both are quite action packed, characters need to think unique ideas to get out of situations, main character's hairstyles have similarities (not that it matters much but perhaps that also explains some of their personality traits). However, Ao Ashi is following realistic soccer/football theme while Hero academia is known for the fantasy superhero society theme. But as mentioned before, the intrinsic relationships have similarities even though themes are different. So if you are looking for that, perhaps you'll find something  read more

Both are about football. Both main characters have a lot of passion and fight hard/train for their goals. Both have a girl supporting the main character

Ao Ashi and Yowamushi Pedal have simple, inspirational storyline like most sports anime. A good sports anime must standout with unique character design, quality animation, and compelling character development. Ao Ashi and Yowamushi Pedal deliver on all three elements. They also have exciting moments that will make you cheer for the main character. Consider this series as your next sports anime.

Both shows: -center around a young, arrogant, mean spirited protagonist with a lot of talent (Ashito, Onda). -feature an entertaining trio of main characters who work together on the pitch (Ashito/Eisaku/Tachibana, Onda/Soshizaki/Sumire). -put a lot of emphasis on the nitty gritty of the game (foot skills, strategy, conditioning, etc). -are heavily supplied with real life football references. Key difference: One of them does a lot of the same stuff significantly better than the other.

Dreams are what drives people to fight, this also happened to Birdie Wing and Ao Ashi. The main character dreams of becoming one of the best in the world, to achieve this dream they have to compete with other people. Both started with the same premise as unknown players with incredible raw talent and started to develop over time. Even though Birdie Wing chose golf as their sports and Ao Ashi chose soccer, they still have the same feeling about the main character's journey from nobody to become one of the best.

This is a soccer anime that really describes soccer, you can see the MC struggle in playing soccer. Maybe you can see that in Captain Tsubasa or other soccer anime, but in this anime you can see soccer more broadly, and maybe get motivated to play soccer.
