I listened to this song when it was brand new in 2014, I was either 11 or 12, I had no idea what he was singing about but I loved the whole thing, the music, the vocals and the mysterious feeling I got when I listened to it, I knew something was going on there but I didn't know what it was but I had an excuse, I was so young, haha! I'm a massive Beatles fan ...but FACT was way ahead when they released this ....I think they were starting rubber soul but lyrically they weren't even close.... I thought this song was about ...

"Ape", from Old English apa, is a word of uncertain origin. The term has a history of rather imprecise usage—and of comedic or punning usage in the vernacular. Its earliest meaning was generally of any non-human anthropoid primate, as is still the case for its cognates in other Germanic languages. Later, after the term "monkey" had been introduced into English, "ape" was specialised to refer to a tailless (therefore exceptionally human-like) primate. Thus, the term "ape" obtained two different meanings, as shown in the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica entry: it could be used as a synonym for "monkey" and it could denote the tailless human-like primate ...
