- Both anime are set in an fantasy world - Both have good comedy - Both are pretty much parody - While KonoSuba makes fun of the Isekai animes, Mahoujin Guruguru makes fun of RPG games

Both are goofy comedies/parodies with a wide pool of bizarre side characters, sometimes parodying: other anime (more typical to Gintama), RPG tropes (entire GuruGuru, but some allusions appear in Gintama too from time to time) but they both mostly build their own jokes that the shows work with throughout their runs. Comedy in both is quite random in both, but more dirty in Gintama. Gintama gives more time to each arc, while Mahoujin Guruguru's pacing is extremely fast (which luckily works rather well, even though it is apparent even to me, who didn't read the manga, that way too much content is packed into these 24 episodes).

Both are cute and light-hearted anime that parody fantasy and JRPG tropes.

Similar setting, art style and humor sense. Chacha looks like a satire of magical girl shows, while Guruguru a satire of RPG fantasy adventures. By the way, I recommend the original Mahoujin Guruguru (1994) as well.

Both have a pure fantasy adventure vibe to them. Both anime have MCs of a young age with a boy and a girl going on a journey. Merc Storia has a more lighthearted feel while Mahoujin Guru Guru focuses more on comedy. But they both leave you with a smile on your face.

Both have the same fast-paced slapstick humor and are revamps of much older series.

Both are RPG comedy themed, though Senyuu is a anime short.

Both are fast paced and gag focused. They both have lots of high-octane action and high quality animation to back it up. The character are strange and wacky and are where most of the comedy comes from The main characters both want to be normal despite living around so many weird people. While Space Patrol Luluco is delivered in small shots of comedy in 7 minutes, Guru guru spans twenty minutes and still manages to keep the jokes fresh and entertaining throughout. Luluco is like Guru guru but in space with intergalactic battles and Guru guru is like Luluco but in an old school rpg adventure which  read more

Both shows are great fast-paced fantasy comedies with a male-female pair of main characters. Both also have video game-inspired visual and narrative features, and each also feature a quickly-moving plot that sees our protagonists visiting lots of different locations.

A wholesome comedy. Jokes are various and never bore you. Absurdity, goofiness, surrealism. Parodies, toilet humour, 4th wall breaking. Characters use magic based on the power of imagination.

Both are zany comedies that can be surprisingly cute and heartwarming when it wants to be. The main character of both shows are really cute and wears different cute clothes throughout the show. They also makes lots of references to rpg's, specifically Dragon Quest.

Two incredible shows that demonstrate the art and fun of an RPG. Mahoujin Guruguru emphasize more of the adventure and companionship of misfit allies in a universe governed by typical video game RPG tropes and rolls it into a playful comedy. Log Horizon on the other hand is a capable depiction of what life would very much be like if players in an MMORPG were to suddenly transport into a that very video game where they must learn to create community, lawful control, and maintain the path towards feeling like they belong in this (not so) new world— a world that was once familiar now  read more

Both series parody the fantasy action adventure genre. The characters keep subverting the cliché tropes and sometimes break the 4th wall. Moreover, the authors added crazy plot twists that you will never predict.

Both set in the fantasy world in a classic Japanese RPG game style. Both have a lot of comedy elements

Both have this old computer games feel (although in the princess case it's more subtle), have a child as the main character, full of weird humor and have a sometimes... questionable morality:) they are great and a lot of fun, try them!

1) Both have a lot of 'hectic' humor. 2) Both parody RPGs. There's also the fantasy world, having two protagonists, and even sharing the common old premise of beating the monster lord. The only significant difference is that Mahoujin Guru Guru is a little more story oriented.

guru guru is pretty unique in the anime landscape of 2017, but it reminds me a whole lot of gokudo. since it is a remake of another show from the 90s, i guess that makes sense. at a time animes with standard rpg plots were more frequent than not, both shows parody the simplistic story, and mock the usual manicheism and cheesiness, involving some pretty regressive comedy. so if you're looking for another entertaining comedy/adventure anime that's not as dumb as it looks, and you don't mind the 90s feel, gokudo is the way to go!

Both are parodies and have similar artstyles. The only difference is that Dragon Half never finished and Mahiujin Guruguru got a second run. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will decide to fully adapt Dragon Half and not go to jail before it ends.
