While the story of these two anime are fairly different, they both share a main character who often dresses and acts like you would expect of the opposite gender, another main who is quite carefree but very passionate when they do care about something, as well as both generally taking place in a high class/wealthy environment. Character interactions along with the comedy are also very similar between these two anime.

Similarities; - setting: poor person comes to rich peoples house to serve them - art style - humor (but stronger in Royal Tutor) - finding ones place in a foreign household - english voice actors sounded the same to me

Parents die and forced to adapt to a new home. Both mc are hardworking and enjoy helping others.

The Main Character lost his parents, and starts working at the house of his relatives. diffrence might be, the MC is not forced to do this, like here Ryuu. more likely he forces him self to do this, so he can live "properly". Without feeling "i live here for free".

These slice of life series resemble each other surprisingly much. While the plots and settings are different, the main characters are definitely carved from the same tree. Even though other one is a young boy and other a high school girl, they have the same ethics and attitude towards working and getting things done. They have similar looks and personalities and they both obviously wear a maid outfit - much to their own discomfort. They both have that one person next to them (in Kaichou it is Usui and in Shounen Maid it's uncle Madoka) that constantly teases but also cares very much about them.  read more

Both involve a character (or two) in an unfortunate situation getting an opportunity to live and work in a mansion as cleaning/support staff. In both cases the residents of the mansion are unusual and quirky characters. While there are plenty of differences between the two, there were moments where they have a similar feel to one another.

There's not much similar in plot to these shows, its just the overall vibe they give. Both are very lighthearted and sweet and center on a random scenario (like a a gyaru owning a dinosaur and a boy being a maid). Though I guess you can also say they both share the fact that fashion is a sub focus to the shows.

HARD WORKING LEADS TO SUCCESS i have recently started runway de waratte however the male protagonist is somehow similar to protagonist of shounen maid i love the anime shounen maid it is a inspiration to see how hard that little boy works and a bit similar to runway de waratte

Shounen Maid and Ame-iro Cocoa are both about a young feminine boy working (A house cleaner in Shounen Maid and a waiter in Ame-Iro Cocoa). Both shows have a colorful cast and art, not to mention they are very peaceful to watch.

While Junjou Romantica is a Shounen Ai, and Shounen Maid is not, I still felt some similarity with these 2 series, mainly the characters. Both: -are comedies -has the younger male moving in with the older male -the younger male is an orphan -the younger male has a kind heart, and seems more responsible than the older -the younger male does all the housework: cleaning, cooking, etc. -the older male works from home & has a manager that stresses over deadlines -the younger male often scolds the older male, mainly about not doing their work -the older male isn't on good terms with his parents -the older male is rich Difference: -one is about a romantic relationship  read more

This is similar to Boy Maid because first the mc (main character) lost his/her home for some reason and has to find a new home. Both main characters finds a strange man who was being "attacked by a dog" and they both let them stay at the household.

While Shounen Maid is not the masterpiece that Shounen Maid Kuuro-kun is, both have very similar qualities. For example, both have MC's who are trap characters that work as a boy maid. Furthermore both have a guy takes the MC to his home to work for various plot reasons.

Suddenly i remember about hayate no gotoku after watching shounen maid if you like comedy and an anime about servant and master you will like this anime too

Both of these anime are sweet slices of life with quirky main characters (Tsukimi from Kuragehime and Chiro from Shounen Maid) who have lost their mothers. Additionally, Madoka from Shounen Maid and Kuranosuke from Kuragehime share similar personalities and an interest in fashion/traditionally female things.

in Wakaomi she lost her parents, in shounen maid he lost his mother and the story is about them moving forward in their life as they get adopted by someone else from their family and the idea of "if you dont work you dont get to eat" is very highly used in both stories. As thats exactly what they start doing in their new place. Heartwarming and emotional stories just how hard and overly sad it is to lose your parents and being left all alone but the heartwarming part is being accepted by someone else and them caring for you.

Even though Super Lovers happens to be a yaoi while Shounen Maid is not, they both happen to deal with relationships between an older and a younger male family member.

Both anime are very innocent and refreshing, they both use the relationship between an adult and a kid as their main focus. Both anime contain extremely good life lessons and are filled with heart-warming moments. And even though the plots are very different, the feeling you get after watching them is really similar.

So, in most ways they may not be the same, but plotwise they are since both have that indirect lolicon theme behind it. However unlike Shounen Maid, the lolicon theme of Hatsukoi Monster can qualify as a reverse lolicon (if we can call it that way) while Shounen maid has that usual lolicon thingy except it was the shounen who has balls to control his uncle (were I suspect has some lolicon thing for him). But in Hatsukoi, the kind of lolicon was that of a teenage girl acting as the guy's nanny.

Both the masters of their mansion are very talented in making outfits (maid) and other types, plus a specific dress appearing in both series. Also the pets that the main characters bring in these anime cause a bit of trouble to the owners.

Both are extremely fluffy slice of life anime starring a young protagonist who is good at housework. They were both made by the same studio as well, so animation and art style wise, they are similar as well.
