SAO Alicization War of Underworld and Gate are very similar in style. Their plots seem very similar while at the same time they take different approaches. Gate has a way that immerses the protagonists in a fantasy world, and they enter with their physical body. However Alicization sticks to SAO's roots and the Main Characters enter virtually. They're both great Animes.

the amount of politics in these 2 anime is simmilar as in the poweplay between the different nations. gate is about a nation trying to civilize a different world as in teaching and integrating modernday values into an seemingly uncivilized world, and slime is about a creature starting his nation in a similar world to be honest but we get more content about the relations between the different species in slime.

- Cross world battles mixing of fantasy/science fiction elements - Characters not understanding what their enemies are - Focus on party character development with strong main protagonist lead Its hard to find animes that mix fantasy/scifi and war try to watch both to see if they are what you seek

When I was watching the second season of Gate, it reminded me a lot of Log Horizon. A group of people interacting with a world where they are significantly stronger than everything else (for the most part), and the ramifications of that interaction. There are obviously differences, but I'd say that's a big theme of both.

They both propose the same plot. Two lazy individuals who somehow get mixed up with military duties and becoming the "leader" of their squad. More than enough action in the both of them and the style of fighting typically endures warfare and tactics only the "leaders" can think of. Easily two of my favorite animes to date.

--Both of the male protagonist being transported from Japan to an alternate world. Zero no tsukaima's is focused on Wizardry/School while Gate is more on Military/Tactics. --Both have strong fantasy feel. Including dragons, elves, maids, monsters and mages. -- MC's comes from a world filled with advanced technology with an even longer and more brutal history of conflict. --they both share the want to protect what they hold dear. -Gate had a lot more darker moments, while ZnT is comedy-oriented.
